The Grand Central Hotel is not open for business but they do take your money (Non-refundable) and Expedia still offers their services but cannot get you a refund. Not kidding. Do not book a room. The doors are literally chained shut. They have been cloed since March 2020. Also I didn't realize when booking for myself and my family that it is right in the middle of the redlight district...oops.

The location is good if you are into nightlife, pubs, clubs and girlie bars, but the hotel itself is in very poor condition. The lift is so slow you could walk up and down the stairs quicker. My room was on the top floor and did have access to the roof pool which would have been a lot better if the spa had water in it! The shower in the room was terrible and when turned on would immediately point to ceiling. When I asked to have it fixed they said its a new shower and didn't need fixing! Trust me it needed fixing and they didn't fix it. Apart from that I thought it was way overpriced considering the overall condition of the property which was very poor. The staff were mostly helpful apart from the shower problem, but don't expect much if you go there as you will be sorely disappointed.

Room was a little dirty and not wiped down when i first got there, but the staff is great and will clean if asked. The front desk and ladies downstairs were really funny, and made it a very enjoyable stay. - Ex Husband

Rooms towards back away from walking street are quiet. Rooms are modern and more upscale than the other hotels nearby. The suites has better linen and a living room. The location is dead center of walking street. Easy to meet people and just a few steps from dozens of bars and restaurants.

Für euch Jungs empfehlenswert

Das Hotel scheint neu renoviert zu sein zumindest die Zimmer, man versucht mit der grossen Kelle anzurühren und vergisst dabei die Details! zB Stange für Kleiderbügel fehlt, Badetücher eher Sparsam, der etwas gar kleingeratene Kühlschrank ist leer. Notbeleuchtung im Gang fehlanzeige da muss das Handy ran beim fast täglichem Strohmausfall. ABER: Ansonsten ist das Zimmer ein Wow Effekt! spezialbeleuchtung im Schlafzimmer.... 2x Flatscrens, kleine Küche, Bar, Sofaliege plus Sofa, geräumige Dusche, das alles ist Top und die Preisleistung sowieso. (Kleine Suite upgegradet, mann gönnt sich ja sonst nix)

Girls in housekeeping were great. Front porters were top notch. Girls in restaurant were on point. The elevator was a little scary. I was always afraid it would get stuck. The young girl in the daytime shift is less than helpful. And her attitude definitely needs some improvement. I had to come back 3 times to receive my receipt. And each time she had not written it out yet. Finally the other lady on daytime shift filled it out with the wrong info. It wasn’t worth waiting around for the correction in the hot lobby.

Svært mangelfullt

dårlig tilstand, rommene virker tomme og triste og er dårlig utstyrt, mye bråk utenfor hele natta, lite lydisolasjon. Ikke ta heisen, den ligner mest en likkiste som sveives opp og ned av en kryptvokter.

A confortable place in the walking street.

A nice roomy hotel. The cafe out front is a relaxing locations for a latte and the food and barista are first rate. There is plenty of security in the street making this a foreigner friendly area.

Location is the best feature of this hotel. It sits in the area I was looking to be in for my week stay. The lobby coffee shop and food service were very good. It quickly became a regular stop for drinks and food. Hope to revisit some day soon.

The rooms are terrible!!

I booked a room using your service for an 8 night stay. Upon arrival and checking into my room I noticed the condition of the room was less than adequate the paint peeling from the walls and the possible growth of mold behind the mattress was unacceptable, so I spoke with the hotel staff and they informed me that they would move my room but were unable too due to occupancy and it would be 1 day before they could do so. As promised they moved my room and for about 2 days I didn't have any issues until I noticed a roach in the bathroom on the sink. Then 2 more in the bathroom the following day, as well as a roach in the living area of the room. I notified hotel staff and they sprayed with the bug killing product called "Raid". This product only kills roaches if they're sprayed directly so it was pretty much useless. At this point I was ready to leave and Hotels.com and the Manager on duty spoke with and came up with a solution to give me a $100 credit as well as refund 1 night of my stay and move my room for the 3rd time. The 3rd room was supposed to be a remodeled suit. Once again a roach and the cleanliness of the room was terrible. See pics. See pics below of each room. I didn't take pictures of the roaches in the second room, I had already flushed them down the toilet, not thinking. But the 3rd room I did. I'm in no way pleased with the conditions of the rooms that I have stayed in.

Too disappointing ... Choose a different hotel

We were so disappointed with the lack of quality that we refused to stay there. The room furnishings looked old and outdated. The room pictured in the photo looked nice, the room they offered looked hideous. Then they told us that construction would be going on within the hotel so the noise will probably be a distraction. No. Unacceptable. We decided to stay elsewhere.
