"While Expedia listed our room as “not in main building, canal view”, there was no indication on the map of the property that our room would be in a building across a road with vehicles traveling 55+mph. The staff was kind and the property nice, but we were disappointed to have to either watch for speeding vehicles or get in our car to drive and park the car in order to sit by the water. "This was absolutely horrible! Amara Cay overbooked us, tried to blame Expedia, ruined our trip and moved us to their sister site even though our friends were staying there. "

"This place is clean. Staff was great. Close to the water but not really a beach you can get to. More like for tanning. The pool is saltwater and was nice and warm. A bar would have been a nice plus. I would stay again. "

"This stay was perfect for what we needed which was a bed for a night. It offered free breakfast so we could get on our way taking the slow drive to Key West. The rooms needed some maintenance, handles in the bathroom were loose and there was a large seam exposed in the floor across the entire room. We had a reservation for 6 people and there were only 4 towels and no sheets in the room for the pullout on arrival. The staff was aware we were checking in late and assured us they are open 24 hours...

"Our villa was not clean upon arrival at 10pm. We had to ask for new sheets, every bed had dirty sheets. The main bathroom mirror was dirty from the prior people brushing their teeth, there was a dirty dried wash cloth hanging over the shower rod, the sink was also dirty in the master bath. We used the pull out couch and it was covered with crumbs and dirt. I’ve never been so disgusted with a rental. The fact we paid the amount we did only to be told that they couldn’t do anything is...

"Loved the location. View from our room was beautiful. We also loved Alfie at the front desk. She was a sweetheart. So helpful and wonderful personality. Great asset to the resort. We will definitely return. "
