My sister and I had a lovely stay at Lar da Mota. The place is cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. The staff was very kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Thank you for such a warm experience!
This hotel is located in a beautiful setting in the woods. It is very remote, so you will need to take a taxi to and from the hotel. It is a beautiful and comfortable hotel.
We spent a wonderful evening at Lar de Mota in the last few days or our Camino. The room was comfortable and clean, and the tub very much appreciated. The star or this place was the meals and wine list. The food was fine dining at its best, and the wines offered were delicious.
If you want to have 5 stars service in rural area, then go to this place.
Run by husband and wife who have had years of experience in International hotels, they will provide you with a personalized service.
We stayed here one night as it was on our Camino route. Such a nice and peaceful property. Prema, who also prepared a delicious fixed price dinner, and Javier were just wonderful hosts. Everything was first class and it was about six miles from the hustle and bustle from the nearest town. Loved it. Highly recommended.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
The hotel is in a secluded, tranquil location on the Norte. Entering, one is struck by the kind eyes, soothing and welcoming voice of the proprietor, Javier. A gentler, warmer welcome cannot be had. The common area is artful and welcoming and filled with books and artifacts from a life well lived around the world. The bedroom was spotless, inviting, comfortable, with a welcome hot bath after 30km walking the Camino. The window overlooks the garden and the fields beyond. Birdsong abounds at morning and night. Dinner was unplanned (by me!) but delicious, served in a beautiful dining room—and a river literally runs through the dining room—evocative of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Waters. A sound, restful, wonderfully quiet night of sleep. Breakfast was varied, plentiful and, again, a river runs through it. Javier is a warm, interesting and consummately gracious innkeeper. His conversation was warm and welcome and gracious—a worthy soul on a camino filled with worthy souls.
A first rate experience. I have stayed at 2000+ hotels while cycling around the world the past five plus years—this is among the very finest on offer in the world. Stay here. You will be happy you did.
