"Lovely hotel in a lovely location however the room we stayed in seemed like it hadn’t been used for a while, cobwebs in the bathroom and the balcony where the hot tub sat needed a very good clean with spiders nests in the ceiling. On arrival the hot tub wasn’t working properly however they arranged for maintenance to come quickly to sort. Overall a nice stay but could do with utilising clever storage and having a fridge in the room would feel like a benefit. Beautiful breakfast but not 100% sure that it feels 5*. Muzumi was a beautiful restaurant with gorgeous food and would highly recommend and also had an afternoon tea which seemed like a mix up on arranging so unfortunately was half an hour wait for that but was good on arrival. All staff were friendly but would give thanks to the maintenance gentleman as he was very conscientious."

"A lovely hotel in the heart of Ambleside. Our balcony room was in an annexe just a few steps from the main hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the outdoor jacuzzi in the spa was a lifesaver in the immense heat we have just had. The food in the restaurant was lovely, breakfast was a continental buffet and hot from the menu and the dinner choice was very good and well priced."
