We stayed at Aloft Downtown after a great experience at Aloft Sugarloaf, and unfortunately this stay was very disappointing. While the front desk staff was friendly, that was the only positive part of our visit.
The walls are paper thin. The first night we could not sleep until around 2 a.m. due to noise from our neighbors. The second night, I was so nervous about what my kids might hear from neighboring rooms that we had to sleep with the TV on for noise coverage. This is absolutely not a family-friendly hotel.
We also had issues with housekeeping. The towels in the room were dirty, and when housekeeping came by the second day, we declined full cleaning but asked for fresh towels. We were told we could only receive three towels, even though the room was booked for four people with two queen beds.
On top of that, the room was extremely hot at night despite having the air conditioning set to 68 degrees, making it very uncomfortable to sleep.
Overall, this was a very unpleasant stay, and we will never stay at this location again.
