Stayed at MacDonald Highland Hotel with my daughter and grandson. Our room was perfect for our 2 nights stay. The amenities at the resort is excellent for kids. Great pool, soft play, kids disco and mini off road driving. The staff were friendly and helpful with booking restaurants. We had breakfast included in our price and could not fault the great selection offered. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel and would definitely return on my next trip to Aviemore.

It’s a decent hotel, but way past its heyday. Could do with a renovation. Staff are friendly enough, hotel restaurants are ok, but nothing special. Location is great for exploring the highlands tho, and the kids loved the pool.

The resort is quite old and in some spots pretty rundown. The cleaning team does a great job with what they have. when it comes to the support staff We found a range between some who were kind and helpful and others who seemed as if they were a bit hungover and couldn't be bothered

We really enjoyed our first stay at MacDonald Highland. It was instantly a child-friendly atmosphere (we were holidaying with a nearly 3 year old and a 5 month old) and the facilities for them were wonderful. The staff were particularly helpful and the family room set up was great although we had to drop the legs of a single bed down closer to the ground for our toddler as it was a bit too high. Our only very small criticism was the apparent lack of sockets by the side of the bed for phone charging (this would help when konked out after trying to get two young children to sleep!) We look forward to visiting again!

If you're travelling with kids it will be ideal: there is a soft play, activity room, and pool which are all clean and included. I didn't rate the breakfast, not as good a selection as other hotels and not that tasty. The rooms and communal areas are dated and pretty poor, but fairly clean. The highland hotel has a great veranda which I felt was under utilised by not opening the upstairs bar. For the price I paid it was about right, but it really needs renovating.

Loved everything about the property . Kids had lovely time at the activities park . Did grass sledging, swimming. Kids loved the yellow slide . The breakfast was delicious. The lock of the bathroom door was not working but this was just a minor thing. Apart from that everything was superb . Thanks for making us feel homely and welcome . Lovely place to stay .
