Absolutely wonderful stay at La Maison des Augustins. Beautiful property, my room was elegant and spacious and the hosts were very welcoming & helpful. Highly recommend!
Fantastic stay in the old town. Very comfy, safe and pleasant. Great breakfast. Lovely and helpful owners.Beside the B&B they offer 5 star appartments.
Hotel was fantastic! The host couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. Gave us our room early and stored luggage after checkout. Also gave fantastic recommendations for restaurants and day trips in the area. Breakfast was great. Could not have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely property! The location was perfect, and the next morning we enjoyed a vibrant street market with fresh produce and local crafts. The home was very clean and comfortable, with a beautiful garden. Sabine and Patrick were incredibly warm and welcoming. We already look forward to returning!
Such a lovely stay in a beautiful historic building - fantastic walkable location... but more so, Patrick was welcoming, kind, accommodating ... had the most beautiful and delicious breakfast wonderfully prepared by hi lovely wife. Room was comfortable, felt local and not box hotel-like, cool in the summer heat. Loved our stay here ... what a find!
Perfect location!! Check in was simple, and the lady was fabulous. All the things are there to stay for a few days, including dishes, a small fridge, and even a corkscrew! That’s only if you tire of the many great restaurants right outside the door! The place is darling and totally enjoyable. Definitely would recommend staying here to anyone!
This B&B was amazing! It is located in the heart of Avignon in a former Augustine monastery. The rooms are well designed and modern. They all face a courtyard with a lush garden and ours had a kitchen and incorporated architectural elements from the monastery. The couple that run it are delightful and helped us through our stay. We spent lots of time enjoying the courtyard, which is where breakfast is served.
A wonderful accommodation not for 4 but for 5 stars where you are offered everything you need for a nice vacation: a beautiful clean room and bathroom, a wonderful garden for afternoon relaxation, a traditional imaginative breakfast in a space that exudes beautiful design, a shuttle service and parking for your vehicle. All sights are within a 5-minute walk, as are many restaurants, cafes and shops. The crowning glory of the accommodation is the staff who will help you with advice at any time. MERCI
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aux Augustins. It was a last minute booking due a change in circumstances and we could not have been happier.
The historic building is so interesting, the decor and renovations very tasteful and comfortable. Patrick is the most accommodating host.
Breakfast was delicious comprising of fresh fruit, meats, cheese, cereal, bread, pastries as well as homemade yoghurt and brioche.
We could not fault this B&B and recommend a stay.
Patrick was the consummate host in this beautifully renovated monastery. All the sites and sweet streets are a short walk away. Free Parking is outside the walls of Avignon served by an easy free shuttle. The breakfast was delicious including homemade brioche. The room was very comfortable, large with a little kitchenette We would come back in a heartbeat.
Patrick’s place was fantastic and made our stay in Avignon truly memorable. The apartment was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the air conditioning was a huge bonus—something that can be surprisingly hard to find in France, especially good in the during the warmer months.
The location could not have been better. Situated just steps from great restaurants, cafés, and shopping, it was easy to enjoy everything Avignon has to offer. The iconic Palais des Papes was only a short walk away, making sightseeing incredibly convenient.
What really set this stay apart was Patrick’s hospitality. He went above and beyond from the moment we arrived, meeting us personally outside the front door knowing we were coming from the train station. His warm welcome immediately made us feel at home. Throughout our stay, he provided outstanding restaurant recommendations that helped us experience some of the best local dining in the city.
Patrick is a gracious, attentive host, and his apartment is the perfect base for exploring Avignon. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This B&B is a perfect gem. The historic building dates back to medieval times and features original stonework, including a clock tower which overlooks the delightful garden courtyard which is beautifully designed with flowering plants, fruit trees and intriguing sculpture. The original artwork featured throughout the property, guest rooms included, adds elegance and spirit. Patrick and Sabine could not be more kind, welcoming and attentive hosts. The breakfast is delicious, including homemade quiche, fruits, yoghurt, fromage, cold meats, patisseries and fresh bread - and they go out of their way to adjust to your preferences. Our bedroom also contained a small kitchen area, including a fridge, small hob and coffee machine, with equipment, so it was possible to self cater on the evenings when we preferred to have a light supper rather than eating. La Maison des Augustins is an oasis of calm and delight in the centre of Avignon, just a few steps away from some authentic cafes and bars, and of course from the wonderful musées and historic buildings of this beautiful city.
What a beautiful and comfortable stay we had! The room was spacious, clean and quiet. It was hot in Avignon, so we appreciated the air conditioning. The common area included a lovely courtyard as well as a sitting area. We used that while waiting for our taxi the day we departed - Patrick held our luggage as well. We liked that this was in a quieter section of Avignon and not in the middle of the touristy area, yet, we were still within walking distance to the Popes Palace and the central square, as well as a variety of restaurants and cafes.
Patrick was extremely helpful making suggestions, not only for dinner but for the best stop for our train to Marseilles to get to the airport. He also arranged our taxi. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this lovely spot.
We loved our stay! The room was beautifully decorated, the bed a real king sized bed, the renovation thoughtful both in use of space and with beautiful old details left to shine. A plant filled courtyard and intimate breakfast room and lounge. Real glasses for enjoying the cold rosé. A beautiful stay. Add to that a bustling residential neighborhood just outside the tourist center, in the oldest building in Avignon and extremely welcoming hosts! Highly recommended
An amazing find in the heart of old-town Avignon. Larger-than-normal rooms, beautiful gardens, and a delightful host. You're steps away from a market area and many restaurants, and only 10 minutes on foot to the Palais-des-Papes and other key sites.
The rooms are beautifully appointed, as are the gardens (many sculptures). Definitely a must-say if you're spending any time at all in Avignon.
Sabine and Patrick have beautifully restored this lovely home. The rooms are immaculate and spacious. The central courtyard is full of beautiful flowers and floral vines. The breakfast is catered to your preferences, and delicious. We look forward to returning.
I stayed at Augustine B&B in Avignon for six nights, and it was truly one of the most memorable parts of my trip.
The host was not only warm and welcoming, but also exceptionally attentive to detail. Everything—from the comfort of the bed and linens to the thoughtful touches throughout the space—made the stay feel both refined and deeply relaxing. The beautiful garden and inviting lounge areas created an atmosphere that felt less like a hotel and more like a true home away from home.
What made the experience especially unforgettable were the evenings. On some nights, we would sit in the garden with the host, surrounded by the scent of orange blossoms, sharing conversation over candlelight, wine, and delicious food. Above us, the ancient bell tower was softly illuminated, and the sky opened into a canopy of stars with a delicate crescent moon. Guests and hosts spoke with ease, and there was a rare sense of warmth and connection that is difficult to find.
It was a unique and intimate experience—one I will always remember and wholeheartedly recommend.
