We stayed 4 nights at Rancho Encantado and it was a totally unforgettable experience, in all the good ways! We had the privilege of staying in 2 different types of room during our stay - we were booked into a lake side cottage but the lovely Gerardo moved us to a Laguna Master Suite for two of the nights as there was a bit of construction going on, and we wanted to avoid the noise. The whole stay was wonderful, the hosts are very welcoming and amenable. You feel very welcome and are able to communicate with them easily. They offer great advise regarding the area. We booked a tour to go paddle boarding at sunset with monkey adventure bacalar though the hotel which was absolutely incredible. The room was very spacious, the kitchen had plenty of utensils. We were made to feel exceptionally welcome by the owners - in spite of the language barrier (be ready to use Google translate a lot if you're not a Spanish speaker!) they couldn't do enough to help.
