I loved that the town centre was only a few streets away. We stayed at another hotel after Avlon Gardens with a higher star rating and Avlon put it to shame. "Large room with king bed. Friendly staff. Several restaurants nearby although we used The Station next door to buy takeaway for a night in to watch the tennis. Bathroom was dated but would definitely stay again."
