"Tombeck was nice, roomy, comfortable. Had a large kitchen fully stocked with cookware, oven, stove, kettle, microwave. We liked the large wooden dining table. A great place from which to explore Tomintoul and the Cairngorms. Also has a washing machine and dryer, but no instructions so took some time to figure them out (and the washing machine makes a loud noise and really shakes while running)."

"Building is in disarray, with things left all over the place. No one was at the front desk. Towels were not changed and our room was not refreshed for our second night. I planned to use my credit card but was told the machine wasn’t working and I had to pay cash, but wasn’t given a receipt. (I was finally emailed a receipt a day later, after I insisted on one.) I never did received the change from my cash payment. It was all quite strange."

"We absolutely loved our stay at the Mansion House. It is within walking distance of all the sites in Elgin plus has very accessible parking. The surrounding walks and neighboring river made me feel like a character in a Jane Austin novel. Iona, Billy and all the staff made us feel like family. We even learned how to play snooker. Breakfast couldn’t have been better or more convenient. Will definitely try to return every time we go to Scotland!!!"

"The room was really spacious compared with other accommodation we have had in the UK. Breakfast was ok, dinner was pretty poor at the onsite restaurant. Staff were friendly. The location was good for our road trip around Scotland. A big negative for us was the noise from the floor above us, the floor board were so creaky we heard every step of the people upstairs, and the entry doors would bang closed…. No sleep in for us."

"Our favorite stay out of our 3 week road trip. Room was fantastic:: spacious, beautiful view, great shower, comfortable bed and pillows and best breakfast. Colin provided us with the information to hit the maximum sites in our two days in the Speyside area and beyond. Thanks for a great stay."

"We generally stay at premium hotels but tried this place based on reviews. Drove for 2 hours from EDI to this property. The owner/manager greeted us and asked about dinner plans. Very kind person who guided us about next morning’s breakfast. Being vegetarian, they prepared exhaustive menu based on our dietary preference. Very good hospitality and also imparted valuable information about silver sands beach and ferry to Isle of Sky. Overall an excellent experience!!"

"I stayed here for a week and I was happy with what we got for the price we paid. The staff from the lady checking us in to the cleaners we spoke to, were all really nice. The room was comfortable and clean but my only issue ws the shower. It was a little mouldy at the bottom and the pressure wasn't great. It did the job though and I would stay again. Thank you"
