"The staff where all so friendly, polite and bubbly. I can't remember the young girls name that worked in the garden bar of an evening but she was the nicest person I met through out our stay in the hotel. She is a credit to the hotel and other staff members. We did find the room was very small and extremely hot. There was a fan provided to help but unfortunately it was of no use as it was only circulating hot air, the window is only allowed to be opened a few inches. I did ask to have the...

"This is a gem of a find. Beautifully fitted out and managed with exceptional care. The facilities in the room and common parts are simply great and nothing was too much trouble. Mitchelstown has much to offer but Birdies is above and beyond."

"Front desk staff helpful. No lift so stairs to rooms but staff did carry luggage. Convenient location, lovely dinner in bar. Close to Irwin’s for drinks and music. Not sure why but we were told not to drink tap water and had to carry water from bar. Very close to Cahir castle."

"Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Everything worked smoothly, the room was comfortable, and the overall experience was very positive. The only small point to mention is that the rooms can be quite a long walk from the reception and breakfast area. We happened to have one of the furthest rooms, which was a little inconvenient at times, especially with family/luggage. "I never had of Newcastle West before, but if you are ever in this town, this is the place to be. My wife considered the breakfast "the best Irish breakfast in Ireland," and who am I to disagree? We truly enjoyed our stay (and the breakfast) as well the friendly staff including (especially Derek the manager). We need disability-friendly accommodations, and this hotel, in this regard, was a great place to stay. The true test of any hotel, is "Would you go back?," and we would gladly come back...
