"Staff was helpful and knowdgeable. Breakfast and dinner was delicious. Great bar. Accessible to other places to visit nearby. eatery, souvenir stores, clothing ,etc but the restaurant at the hotel was better. Thank you to Christine for the suggestions on where to go for our adventure."
"Incredible location and view of the river. Easy walk to shops and pubs and then to Doorly park as well. The room was clean and comfortable, although we learned that we shouldn't keep the window open at night due to wildlife along the river, so the room got pretty hot. (But this has been an uncommonly hot summer, and a fan was provided.) I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay again."
"I’m not deducting a star for the rather unpleasant member of staff in the bar last night (Sunday 10.45pm ) However, it’s worth mentioning as management need to stub it out before it affects ratings. Unhelpful, unpleasant and came across as quite rude. It’s a shame as one of the duty managers made our drinks the previous evening and he was friendly and helpful throughout our interaction with him. The cocktail he made me was excellent. One of the best I’ve had.
The hotel is lovely and well located, albeit parking is a nightmare. By all means park outside to offload passengers and luggage - you’ve got a maximum of 20 mins. You need to either park in the public car park 100yds away (chargeable) or at the Glasshouse underground car park (€12 per night) located nearby. The hotel has a few spaces but they’re always taken. I would assume by the guests from high end rooms. Our basic room was nice but a bit small and the shower cubicle was really tiny. All that said, we enjoyed our stay."
"The property is unique in that it’s a very old castle turned into a hotel. The grounds are meticulously maintained, and the rooms have contemporary amenities while maintaining an historical ambiance. The lounge served excellent food for lunch and dinner, with an absolutely delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding that is sure to impress Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry!❤️❤️ The breakfast is excellent with ample buffet and à la carte selections. The staff is VERY courteous, considerate, and helpful! Excellent 11am historical tour. Beautiful grounds for walking/hiking. Highly recommend staying here!"
"Everything really clean. Comfortable bed and staff ultra friendly. Breakfast was great. Good family hotel. Only downside was lighting in the bedroom. Could have done with bedside lamp switch nearer to the bed and more central lighting in the room. Otherwise a great place to stay"
"This was a fun place to stay! Elspeth greeted us warmly when we arrived, check-in was easy, and communication was excellent. The property is gorgeous, with amazing views. The Snuggly Sheep hut was comfortable, with fun sheep-themed decor, and very well equipped for self-catering. The fact that it's on a working farm really adds to the experience - there are sheep and cows, as well as llamas, and a donkey, a pony, and a miniature horse to interact with. The hosts have several activities guests can participate in with the llamas, cows, and ponies, as well as a farm tour. You can walk through the pastures down to the Erne Estuary for birdwatching or just enjoying the countryside. There is also a wood-fired sauna with a sunset view (which we didn't use as it was already quite warm). I really hope to return here again someday! I just loved it."
