Really lovely locally owned and run hotel. Our kingsize upgraded room was stunning, and massive. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The homemade shortbread in the room was incredible, and they even refilled it when we scoffed it all! Breakfast was tasty, and the hot food was made to order. The on-site gym “The Unit” was really great and fully included in the room rate, which felt like a treat! They are clearly modernising the hotel to an high standard, and as far as we saw only the room corridors and stairs were still to be upgraded. The parking was free and plentiful, and it’s a great base for exploring the surrounding area. All the staff were exceptionally lovely & friendly (with the one exception of the older gent who checked us in who treated us like an inconvenience, and shouldn’t really be working in hospitality)

We enjoyed a lovely weekend break in this beautiful Victorian Country House Hotel. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Food in the restaurant was delicious, well presented, and good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely location and looks like a good gym although didn’t have time to use. No one available at bar etc as limited staff but got served. Extra charge for late check out and breakfast average, not cooked fresh on order

Hotel in lovely settings and outdoor gardens. Plenty parking no problems. Hotel was clean unfortunately it’s run down in areas chipped paint wallpaper ripped. Room was a good size and clean. Restaurant was nice and good menu. Breakfast was really nice. All staff friendly and helpful.

Excellent stay and the staff so friendly. The room was in excellent condition and the only criticism I have, and it's incredibly petty is the the TV could have been bigger. I look forward to returning and finally sampling the whisky in the bar.

Our recent stay at the Tor Na Coille Hotel was absolutely wonderful and exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome by the friendly and attentive staff. The hotel itself is beautiful. We particularly loved the tastefully decorated restaurant. The lounge was also elegant and cosy—the perfect spot to relax with a drink . Our bedroom was great; clean, very quiet, and well-decorated. It was equipped with everything we could possibly need, including a comfortable en-suite shower and toilet, a plethora of toiletries, and the added conveniences of an iron, ironing board, TV, and hairdryer. The selection of coffee and teas and homemade shortbread in the room was a lovely touch . We dined in the elegant restaurant and had a truly delicious dinner. The menu offered a great variety, and we were particularly impressed with the excellent vegan options for one of our party, which can often be an afterthought but were clearly well-prepared and flavorful and huge portions for us all . Breakfast the next morning was just as impressive, with a fantastic full Scottish spread that again catered brilliantly to vegans . The location is ideal, set within spacious, peaceful grounds that are lovely to wander around . It’s also incredibly convenient, just a short distance from the main street and the beautiful Falls of Feugh . An unexpected bonus was the large, modern gym next door that guests are free to use, which was a great facility. We'll be back!

Spacious and clean rooms, lovely venue and excellent food in the greedy goose! I also felt it was good value for money and the breakfast was good with a large selection of options. We loved having our breakfast by the fire! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit Banchory!

Just back from a wonderful 3 night stay at the Tor-na-coille. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious and spotless. Loved all the original features of this beautiful building. The staff all very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Fresh fruit and delicious cooked breakfast every morning, we dined once in the evening which was superb and very good value, rounded off with a nightcap in front of the roaring fire in the lounge. In a great location, only half a mile to Banchory and a five miles from Aboyne. Perfect for exploring Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms National Park. Thanks to all at the Tor-na-coille for your wonderful hospitality. Looking forward to our next visit!
