![Devanahalli Fort is located 35 kilometers (22 mi) north of Bangalore city, at Devanahalli in the State of Karnataka, India.[1]
It was originally built in 1501 by Mallabairegowda,[1][2][3][4] which remained in the hands of his descendants until the mid–eighteenth century. In 1749, the then Dalwai of Mysore, Nanjarajaiah, attacked the fort and occupied it. Later, the fort passed into the hands of Hyder Ali and subsequently Tipu Sultan.[2] In 1791, Lord Cornwallis laid siege to the fort and took possession during the Anglo-Mysore War.

"It was awful. Nobody was there to check us in, the room wasn’t ready and they had the wrong reservation details (they said we didn’t book for an AC room with a washing machine when we did). 3 days after check in they called and said we had overstayed the reservation, when we still had another full day to go! On top of this, the TV didn’t work, there were no dishes or utensils, the bathrooms and bedrooms weren’t clean, and there were no towels or toilet paper. The staff didn’t speak English or...
