"2nd time here so we like it. You can beat the location. We used to stay at the resort on wwst St but got tired of the noise and children running up and down the hallways. The hotel is super clean and the beds are super comfy. They serve a lovely complimentary breakfast. Dinner is comfort food standards but having the restaurant in house is convenient. Dinner is ok but do is most of the dining in Bar Harbor."

"We were looking forward to this hotel because it was located close to the downtown. However the staff was not very friendly, wouldn't let us check in early and when the guest laundry washer broke mid cycle and our clothes were heavy with water, the girl on staff told me to just keep running my laundry in the dryer. She had her own basket of laundry with her and it seemed like she wanted to do her own laundry. It took us 4 hours to dry our clothes and we had to stay close enough to the hotel to...

"We stayed here due to cancelled flights, it’s a lovely property in the middle of Bar Harbor with lots of walkable areas to explore. Their front lawn is a popular gatherings spots for drinks and live music. Only issues was they wanted to kick our friends out of the lawn if they didn’t order a drink and the free breakfast is just muffins and juice."

"We love the staff at the property!!! Michelle at the front desk made us feel like part of the family. She made sure our every needs were fulfilled and always went out of her way to help us. Dannette is the encyclopedia of the area. She shared her knowledge of the surrounding harbors and we loved all the places off the beaten path she recommended. We normally wouldn’t stay at a motel, but we had a hard time to say goodbye at Anchorage Motel!"

"The location was great to walk to almost everything. Was able to take a trolley to the park for a tour which we would highly recommend. The room was very clean. Shower was great lots of pressure. The gifts that were left in the place was very thoughtful. Would definitely recommend for anyone we know coming to Maine - bar harbor. "

I took off one star due to two factors. The towel bar fell off the wall in the bathroom. When I alerted the staff, they quickly reattached it while we were out for the day. But it immediately fell off again. The two ends of the towel bar were too far apart, so simply reattaching the fallen end into the same...

"Easy walking distance from the heart of town but in a alightly quieter spot. They had free snacks, brownies and lemonade most days. The muffins at their breakfasts were a little stale, but otherwise it was pretty good for a Continental style. Staff was extremely friendly and competent. Very clean and spacious room (double queen). They did run out of hot water one day when we waited until mid morning to shower but it was still lukewarm at least."

"Amazing property… Colonial style with amazingly clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a great view. The only problem is the floors and ceilings are very thin and poorly insulated for sound. We heard every foot stomp over the period of four days and all hours of the day and night. Unfortunately, there was nothing the staff could do, but they tried to be helpful. I would recommend staying in the newer building on the property, which is built with more modern construction techniques"
