Front desk personnel were friendly, professional and informative. Walkable to the main train station which was very important to us. Also walkable to local grocery stores and restaurants and metro lines. Breakfast was a nice spread but sitting area was quite small. Room was clean. Would stay again.

Very close to main train station, no need for taxi. Further away from many main points of interest, but if you enjoy walking, you are fine. Easy access from the airport via train station. Rooms a little smaller but very clean.

Overall we loved the hotel. The staff was courteous and friendly. The room was very clean, comfortable and cozy with a living room separately, a walk in closet, a double sink bathroom and a nice king size bed. A plate of fresh fruits as welcoming token was a plus! The only issue we had was the noise from the AC every time it kicked on. I’m a very light sleeper so that was a bit difficult for me. The room is the very first room you see when you enter the hotel, up a few steps of the stairs. Other than that, we loved the hotel. Location was great too as we needed to be close to the Sants Station to catch an early train to Madrid. Public transportation was so easy to access. We didn’t need to rent a car!

Basic hotel near Sants station. Room nothing special, small rooftop pool. More basic than other Catalunia chain hotels. Convenient for 1 night between trains , not more.

Super hotel, close to Barcelona Sants Station.
Fantastic hotel situated in a narrow building on the main Roma Road. I had the Bcn suite and it met and exceeded all my expectations. The staff there were professional and welcoming. A nice touch, later on in the afternoons, was a small selection of cakes and a fruit infused water dispenser. Breakfast is €10. The first morning we went outside for breakfast and spent a similar amount. The next morning we had breakfast in the hotel - and immediately wished we hadn’t gone out to breakfast the previous day. Breakfast in the hotel was far superior.

Everything was great. The only thing we noticed that check-in (with the iPad where they prompt you to sign up for rewards) was incredibly slow. They should probably hand people the iPad and then move to other people in line, or something.

Comfortable stay
Easy to walk to many sites in barcelona. Very close to Sants station if you have a train/bus from there. Service was good, and room was super cute and clean. My room had a air conditioner leak, but once I let reception know they fixed it right away!

Cozy hotel near Barcelona sants station
My husband and I stayed at the Catalonia for our anniversary. The hotel is about a 5-6 minute walk to Barcelona Sants station. The hotel itself is clean but the rooms were small. The pictures are a little deceiving however the room was clean and the ac and wi fi worked well. There is a rooftop pool small but it’s cute and clean. The staff were the most helpful and friendly. They really helped us with the metro and local attractions to see. They were very kind and really made the Catalonia a pleasant stay. This hotel is not downtown however they are near sants and espanya station and the location was perfect for us to catch trains to do day trips from Barcelona such as Monserrat and Girona. Overall, it was a cozy cute hotel with a great staff!

This hotel is a short walk from Barcelona's main train station (Sants). It is clean and friendly. The rooms all have their own safes to keep your valuables. (All hotels should have safes!) I would definitely stay there again the next time I visit Barcelona.

A compact city hotel. The room was well appointed and clean and the staff friendly. Centrally located right by Sants Station. Ideal if you are spending a long weekend exploring the city. I was in a ground floor room so there was a little bit of noise, but I didn't get disturbed at night and it didn't spoil my stay.

We stayed one night before we catch a train back to airport. They upgraded us to a suite room next to the reception on ground floor, which we appreciate that. It’s noisy in the morning as the room is above the breakfast area. The most unbelievable thing is THEY CHARGED EXTRA 7EURO FOR BREAKFAST FOR A TWO YEARS OLD. We have been traveled with our daughter for more than 15 trips inside and outside of the U.S. This is the first hotel that charged extra for a breakfast for a 2 years old who eats so little. They didn’t inform us before, but after we started our breakfast, they brought extra bill to us.

Excellent hotel located very close to Sants railway station. Everything was fine except the (rather expensive) breakfast. On previous visits it was very good but this time not so. The scrambled egg was cold, the bacon tough and I had to wait a long time for a fried egg.

Disappointing experience
I was not impressed with the service at the Catalonia Roma Hotel. The staff was not helpful on the check-in and very unhelpful during check out. I had two separate bookings, on my last night although I had paid already the hotel. They asked me to change hotels because the hotel was fully booked. It was inconvenient and they do not offer any help to solve this problem. They never apologized for the inconvenience or tried to make my experience better. It was disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel.

Fine is how I would describe it as a three star. Room small and window opened on very small internal space. probably not one their better rooms

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities
Business location
The recepcionist at check-in needs to change her job. No welcoming or genuine smile. She need too pay attention about the guest requests. We book a double room away from the A/C noise. 1st room given: twin room (two beds). 2nd room given: level E under the A/C machines. 3rd room given: 3 level with an excelent view to the A/C machines. Honestly I think she was requesting me for this review. The night auditor is a nice gentleman, always with a smille in his face and very polite and the check-out was ok and quick. For an hotel with 20 years I think the cleanliness was ok.
