"Cosy cottage - perfect for two and a dog. The cottage sits on its own, and has a secure gated driveway, but the added convenience of being just off the main road into Criccieth and Pwllheli, and with a mile walk to the beach. Well equipped in the main, though take your own loo rolls! Booked through Hotels.com but actually through Sykes Cottages, who offered great service on the phone. "Received a warm welcome when we arrived and were directed to our room. We stayed in one of the Suites which are in a separate building from the pub, with outside steps leading down to the pub. The car can be taken up a steep slope where there is dedicated parking for each Suite room. We enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast each morning, which was consistently delicious for the 3 days of our stay. Pre-booking is advisable for evening meals, and these were always lovely. Our Suite room was huge with a sofa (can be turned into a bed and would be ideal for a family) chair, dressing table, plenty of storage space, drawers and hanging. Lots of plug sockets. TV, tea and coffee making plus a fridge. It was cool weather during our stay and the bathroom had a heated floor which was welcome. Large walk in shower plus separate bath. Lots of windows so the place is bright and airy. Balcony with table and chairs with wonderful views overlooking the Estuary. Comfortable bed."

"whan we booked with expedia our paperwork assured us we had free breakfast however when we booked in the receptionist said because we hadnt booked with the hotel directly we would be charged over £20 per day for breakfast i think this is a complete con and we would have never booked if we had know breakfast wasnt included we however will never use expedia again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1"

"I was very pleased to find that my room (no.5) had recently been refurbished with new fixtures and fittings! The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. A fridge was included, which was useful for storing breakfast items. Free parking outside on the street was ok in May, but I imagine it could be a problem in high season. Barmouth Train station is a 5 minute walk away with trains roughly every 2 hours north to Pwllheli and south to Machynlleth. The hotel owner has conveniently posted the timetable in the foyer."

"Great location in Barmouth and useful to have a free car park within easy walking distance. Our room appeared to be recently decorated to a high standard with some nice touches like good quality coffee and water supplied. Just to beware that our room was on the top floor and required us to walk up a few flights of stairs although we were offered help with luggage. The main negative for us was the breakfast. Although beautifully served, the quality of some of the items let the main breakfast down. Overall was an enjoyable stay."
