"This place could truly be excellent, however they just missed the mark in a few areas. 1) The restaurant food quality was almost good but they used toxic seed oils in everything. 2) We booked the sauna only to find it turned off and no towels for us. We turned it on ourselves, told staff to push our appointment back to the next half hour block. "This lodging is a hidden gem away from Poas but close enough to get to the crater within 20 minutes. The views from the dining area were spectacular. The owner, Cindy, communicated clearly and often. She provided excellent directions to the property which is located high up on a hill in a residential area. The bedding was comfortable. "Staff met you at the front, Spanish-speaking only but super nice. The room was fantastic when we stayed. It was a little bit colder so there was a space heater. There’s a menu in the room for options for meals. We didn’t partake in any of this, but it was great to know that we had a food available if needed. "Adriana, the property owner, was very welcoming. She covered all the logistics clearly and she also arranged for our shuttle to the airport which was very helpful. The room was basic but very comfortable. Our only issue was finding it as Costa Rica does not have street addresses. There was a map and description so we got close but needed help. "This was a lovely place to spend our first couple of nights in Costa Rica after a long flight. The grounds were beautiful and the breakfasts were great, as was our evening meal. The accommodation felt vibrant and Costa Rican, which we loved, but could do with a little updating. However, it was still a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. We really enjoyed the coffee tour and would highly recommend it."
