As a small business owner, I do not leave negative reviews lightly and believe in giving businesses a fair opportunity—and ample time—to correct mistakes. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this directly, our experience at L’Auberge Casino Hotel Baton Rouge remains unacceptable. We appreciated being allowed to reschedule due to an emergency, but that was the only positive. Our room was outdated, poorly maintained, and not properly cleaned—sticky surfaces, trash left behind, unvacuumed carpet, and only one towel with no toiletries. The bed had 1 sheet, and the pillows smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite the non-smoking policy, which is concerning given my allergy. The A/C did not function properly, and the in-room phone did not work. Management was dismissive when issues were reported. The TV displayed another guest’s name, raising privacy concerns, and replacement pillows appeared unclean. We were told housekeeping and maintenance were unavailable, were not offered a new room, and could not cancel without penalty. Property conditions were also poor, with a broken escalator, overcrowded elevators, and trash-filled stairwells. The pool was restricted to VIPs without clear notice, and noise made sleep nearly impossible. We left early and paying $228 for this was unjustifiable. Despite ample time and multiple follow-ups, the hotel has refused to respond.
