Visiting the Site of the Battle of Hastings that took place in 1066, The crypt of the church is built over the site where Harold II was defeated. (allegedly shot in the eye with an arrow) This led to the beginning of the Norman conquest of England and its history. Taking a stroll around the historic village of Battle the site of 1066 history. The Abbey is a ‘must’ to visit and a walk along the high street offers many opportunities to sit and chat over a coffee in between a bit of window shopping.

No food being served which is not a problem plenty fo eateries around but I found the little café next to the Battle the best
