"Hotel old and tired, smelled strange! Room boiling hot no fan supplied. Food served was not as described on menu and of poor quality for the price. Breakfast tables had not been cleared difficult to find a clean one. Poor selection on a buffet breakfast, eggs inedible. Staff pleasant but seemed happier when outside chatting and smoking. I would not stay here again or recommend to anyone."

"The room was nice and big. The staff were friendly. The location was great, near lots of pubs and restaurants. The pub is good too, with friendly people. Not necessarily suited for young children on friday night as the area is loud until 0030, although it did quieten down once bars were shut. The shower water pressure in the evening seemed a lot lower than the morning."

"We had a lovely stay at Amelia Cottage while visiting family in Battle. Such a nice and warm welcome from the owner. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need. The garden is lovely and well maintained with many flowers. The location is perfect, it is close to the playground and to Battle High Street. The local supermarket Jempsons is only a few minutes walk away and that was also very handy. We will definitely book again!"

"We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. The staff made us feel welcome and well looked after. There was a good choice of food for both breakfast and dinner, cooked to a high standard. Our room was spacious and clean, offering plenty of comfort throughout our stay. "Third time staying here due to the positive previous experiences. The positive streak continued with a great room featuring a fantastic air-conditioning unit which kept me cool in the June heat. A wonderful workout ensued in their very well-equipped gym set up. This was followed by a powerful shower and I went to dine nearby. Had a great night's sleep before a well-cooked breakfast got my day started perfectly. Can't wait to come back."

"We upgraded from a cosy room to a superior room. The room itself was lovely, though quite small and the bathroom had a roll top bath. The room was extremely clean and the decor was lovely. However, I would say that there was little space to put any of our things, little surface space in the bedroom and the bathroom. Our room was on the top floor; we were asked before arrival whether we had an problem with stairs, and there were quite a few levels to go up so be aware of this. I do have one...
