"The staff were helpful and efficient. Excellent location for visitors to Battle. Good value for money. "

"The bed was comfortable and the bedding was lovely. The en-suite bathroom smelt of mould, was extremely tiny, as was the hand basin. Also the shower door kept jamming. The heating would not work, despite the temperature being only 15 degrees, although staff rectified very quickly. We lost Netfix and despite request, this was not rectified. On a more positive note, the food was lovely, the staff friendly and the pub was well located. "

"Hotel is beautiful and everything is super chic.. loved our stay, staff very helpful and the areas to chill, drink, eat and relax are good. Swam in pool and lake, also arrived to a beautiful plate of chocolates for our wedding anniversary, lovely treat.. will be back for a girls retreat next time … a wonderful stay .. xxxx "

"The room was nice and big. The staff were friendly. The location was great, near lots of pubs and restaurants. The pub is good too, with friendly people. Not necessarily suited for young children on friday night as the area is loud until 0030, although it did quieten down once bars were shut. The shower water pressure in the evening seemed a lot lower than the morning."

"We had a lovely stay at Amelia Cottage while visiting family in Battle. Such a nice and warm welcome from the owner. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need. The garden is lovely and well maintained with many flowers. The location is perfect, it is close to the playground and to Battle High Street. The local supermarket Jempsons is only a few minutes walk away and that was also very handy. We will definitely book again!"

"Room was clean and excellent size, though saying sea view was pushing it as that was only visible in top right corner of the dirty window. No food available at 6pm on Sunday evening and the general decor of the pub and facilities is pretty poor. Fine for a short overnight stay but place needs an upgrade"

"Tired room. Minimal but some noise. Comfortable bed. Continental breakfast only but at 9:00 on weekends causing my journey to be delayed Pay parking in car park across the road. Free from 17:00-09:00 which conflicts with timing for breakfast"

"The room was a good size, the bed very comfortable the bathroom was good sized. The shower was over the bath with shower curtains, not great for older persons. There was a warning sign about the heated towel rail which was not heated.A request to the duty manager to turn it on, produced no result, nor a report back. The breakfasts were fine and we were happy to have dinner three nights. Car parking in front of the hotel was good. Staff, apart from the duty manager who did not perform or report,...

"Stay overall was okay. Staff were nice enough and helpful just often difficult to locate at times. Hotel rooms in coach house outside were on the face of it nice. But then you quickly realise they are riddled with spiders and spider webs. Could also hear what sounded like rodents scratching through the night. The coach house is very old and I think this may add to the challenges. The wooden beams in areas were stuffed with loo roll where in were large spider nests and lots of webs. The food...
