"The room was decently clean but very spacious. My issue was with the shower where I could see a couple pieces of hair on the walls which to me says they didn’t clean it well. Other than that everything else was fairly clean. No issue with the reception staff. HOWEVER, My main reason for losing a star is because the housekeeping staff was extremely loud in the morning, I’m talking 7-9, and the walls are not thick so I could hear EVERY word! Breakfast is offered but I did not eat it but still gave a star for the choice. Luckily there’s also a gelsons literally right across the street! They also provide a mini fridge which was really nice to have. I would suggest this place if you’re literally only gonna be there to sleep, get ready and then leave. If your a person like me who likes to chill for a long time in their room, I would suggest another place. However, it’s very close to the beach and good for people traveling with a car since the provide free parking. Also my only other complaint is that the lights above the bed are connected to the outlet plug. So when I turn off the lights, my charging also stopped. Not a big deal but just a weird set up. Also my tv remote didn’t work at all which was annoying but not a big deal since I was only there one night. Would give this place an overall a 3.2/5."

"Clean room"

"The Beach House at Hermosa Beach was a is beautiful. Our room, on the third floor of the “East building,” felt like a beach cottage, with a simple but lovely layout including a deep tub, small kitchenette, fireplace and view of the beach from the sitting room and the balcony. The bed was extremely comfortable. I loved getting up early and grabbing free freshly made coffee to bring back to our room. We didn’t eat the continental breakfast that was available but it looked fine. The coffee was amazing. The staff was excellent; we enjoyed chatting with the very friendly valets, who would have our car waiting and the front desk folks were very responsive and helpful. We would love to return. "

"So the room was amazing and comfortable and the location was great. Was our first time in California from PNW and will be back next time we go to LA. "

"why did we pay 200.00 plus a night. And sunday mourning Hotel offered at 160.00 per night. After reading this probably will not stay there again"

"The Good: The staff were wonderful. Friendly and polite.going out of their way to help The front desk was very accommodating to our room request. The wait staff and bar workers were top shelf. The physical plant was extremely clean with never a smidgen of dirt anywhere. The public/common restrooms were spotless. The food was delicious albeit quite spendy. $30 for a hamburger was steep … for a burger. I must admit it was a delicious burger. The bar drink prices were equally outrageous, but the espresso martini was good, but not $ 30 good. Poolside there was filtered water aplenty with a nicely heated pool. Unfortunately some of the male guests poolside were a tad loud, obnoxious and vulgar. ( not hotel’s fault). The absence of luggage totes /carts was annoying. Overall the experience was very pleasant. This is our 6+ time staying here and have two more family trips planned this year (2026) which include staying here. "

"If you are a family traveling from out of town DO NOT book this hotel! It looks nothing like the photos. I arrived with my children and walked right out the door. Hotels.com and Virpillat refused to refund-this property is misrepresented in the photos (trash bags stacked in hallways, junk all over) "

"Very clean hotel "

"The hotel is in a safe and up scale neighborhood and is a nice walk to the beach and the pier. The hotel is nothing fancy, but has been renovated. The rooms and clean and comfortable."
