My jacuzzi in my room was pretty good and the Valentine’s Day dinner was great. The pool and hot tub at pool was amazing even if the hot tub didn’t seem to be fully functional. Would’ve liked the other amenities to be ready (some things seemed like under maintenance or things were being added) but I can see this resort is a great option for the area. Game room was cool too. Overall excellent. Will probably come again!

Unexpected Surprise! Ill be back!
This was my first (but not last) stay at Coolfont. When I decided to visit the Berkeley Springs area, I was not necessarily looking for anything beyond a basic hotel. When CF came up as an option, and a very affordable one, there was no doubt about it. I stayed in the Woodland House which can best be compared to a basic, few-frills apartment-like accommodation. With the exception of the dish service which was spotty at best, everything was perfect. I really enjoyed the quiet wooded setting as well. The main building itself was also amazing as was the restaurant with its complimentary breakfast and excellent dinner/bar service in the evenings. Thank you CF for an unexpected treat! Ill be back!

The A-Frame we stayed in was clean, roomy, and everything worked. The propane fireplace was a nice touch as well as a propane hot water heater. Most cabins struggle with hot water, bot here! Staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent stay!

When I made reservation, I thought I was getting a private cabin somewhere on the property. Turns out, my wife and I were staying in a standard room located in the main building @ $241. Staff was very friendly, the place clean, and the main building beautifully outfitted with wood from floor to ceiling. After we checked-in, we literally walked past the kitchen (we could see orders up and ready for customers); that was rather off-putting but it’s the building layout so whatever. Our room was spacious and had a jetted tub in the actual room; kind of nice as we could look out the window and we weren’t in a cramped bathroom. The room itself was okay, nothing notable save whoever painted the trim didn’t prime it first as all the knots in the wood bled through and it looked as through the room still needed work. Wife and I decided to eat in the restaurant on the grounds which was a 30 second walk (back past the open kitchen doors). Good selection was largely bar food with all meals listed in the 4 page menu; we weren’t blown away by the food or service and we aren’t really hard to please. For as nice as the restaurant bar area looks (in pictures and in person), several guys walked in wearing their short sleeve work shirts, one dude can in with a sleeveless shirtsleeve shirt… We enjoy our stay, I guess; it was time away from our teenage boys and zoo-worth of animals but we won’t stay here again and surely will fine somewhere else to eat when we return to Berkeley Springs.

Nice place to stay. Right in the mountains of WV... Leaves were beautiful. The resort bar was great... Awesome prices for drinks. Went to the BBQ house across the street for dinner... Also very good.

A Gem In The Hills
This is a warm and welcoming, minimalist lodge. Nice guest rooms, clean, comfy beds, free breakfast each morning, and great staff. It was my first time in West Virginia and this place was a gem in the hills.

Look no farther!
We stayed 2 nights. The cabin was beautiful and clean. It was pet friendly and I loved having my dog vacation with us. I loved walking him all around the beautiful trees. The dinners at the restaurant were delicious...We ate dinner 2 times, Unfortunately the breakfast was not the best but we did have free coupons so no money lost. The only thing I feel they could add would be a landline phone to the cabin. There was no WiFi in the cabins so Incase of an emergency I could not call for help. My cell phone had no signal 80% of the time. This could have been very bad Incase if a medical problem or fire or any kind of incidents! The desk staff were friendly. We did not use the indoor pool but we did visit the arcade and it was very nice. Looks like they are in the process of renovating several cabins around the property. Over all great stay but I really hope they add landline phones OR Wifi.

This is not the same resort we stayed at decades ago. The grounds were strewn with litter, some buildings smelled musty - it needs to be updated. Service, especially in the restaurant, was appalling. Slow, disorganized and food was served cold and the response was to simply ignore our concerns. One night there was a power outage - we had no water & could not flush the toilet or wash our hands! There was no emergency back up plan or attempt by the staff to assist us. AVOID THIS PLACE!!

We had a great experience at the property the male receptionist was awesome the first day. He showed us around and was very nice. The pool on property was clean. The cabins were cute and quant decorated with fall decor. Food in the restaurant at Coolfont was good. There is a pond with a fountain we took an evening still around with our dog and kids. It was great! However, when checking out the female receptionist was a little rude. Other than that we will be back it was a beautiful pit stop on our drive back from Virginia Beach to Buffalo NY.

Quiet getaway with good fishing
Got away to give my teen sons some good fishing time. They got that, catching over 20 bass. They took the boat out on the lake, Quiet, relaxing location. Nice walks around the area. Close to Cacapon for more fishing, the Brew Pub and other good restaurants.

We wanted to eat in the lodge restaurant for dinner. We were sat right away but after 15 minutes of waiting without a single person coming to the table, we left. We did try to get a server’s attention but no luck. (2 were talking at the hostess stand, 1 to the bartender and 1 was talking to a table that was finished eating) We went back for the included breakfast, we had to ask for a menu, 1st plate they brought my husband was totally wrong and then the correct one was cold

This is a very nice hotel in a peaceful, country setting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and we had a nice balcony looking out onto the pond. The food and service in the restaurant were good, and the feee breakfast was generous and tasty. Coffee available all day was a nice touch.

The property is located in the mountains and the scenery is beautiful. Breakfast is not available until 8am and the on-site restaurant closed at 8 pm. Inconvenient hours when there are no other options near the resort

I was really looking forward to returning to coolfont. But, the rooms were very damp and smelled of mold. We only stayed for 30 minutes, then checked out because of the condition of the rooms. I requested a refund.
