Spa facilities not available during my stay which were only made clear after I had booked a non-refundable room. (The hotel refused to allow me to cancel). When this was discussed at reception the on-duty manager just said that as it was temporarily unavailable (for several months it seems) that they would not change the advert which i still do not understand why in the description that cannot be made clear.
The hotel room given was above the hotel restaurant with music so loud I could not sleep (i had the half marathon and i have a hidden disability which makes sleeping difficult anyway). When I spoke to the on-duty manager he was very dismissive and even when the assistant had offered me another room for the next night he just said there was no point as there would be no party on sunday night (this was incorrect assumption as I had to endure at 10pm until midnight more loud music). He said they would ring the police as it is illegal but by the time they would arrive it would be midnight when it would be sorted - it was after this time. Nevertheless I got the impression this is a frequent occurrence and is totally unacceptable to sell a room like that. Ultimately because I could not use the facilities I had intended to use and was the main reason for my booking, I changed my flight and was glad to leave the hotel at 7am the next morning.
A minor thing in the grand scheme of things was the hair on the bed next to the little cardboard sign which said "welcome home".
