"This hotel needs some work. The elevator is a mess. The grab rail was hanging and not safe. Our room had not been vacuumed as we found trash under the big chair when we had to move it. I believe it was a vapping thing. The face board on the bathroom vanity was not secure. The tv remote was too gross to touch without cleaning it first. The fridge smelled very musty. The white curtains in the room were also starting to shred. We will not stay there again."

"Weird set up... bedroom bathroom connected without a door. Getting ready is loud f9r other person sleeping. Bathroom should be connected to the living room. Other than that, great hotel!!"

"We stayed at LaQuinta to be close to the hospital. I reserved the ADA accessible room for my mother who has mobility issues. The room was spacious, but the beds are way too high off the ground to be considered ADA accessible. The bed presented a fall risk every time my mother needed to get into or out of bed. "

"The hotel was very very clean, it's new so it should be. Check in was a little different, you need to down load the OpenKey app so you can get in your room. The tub was very deep, which is greet for bath lovers. There was a HUGE TV in the sleeping area and a HUGE (65-70 IN) in the sitting area. I don't drink coffee but I noticed there was not a coffee marker in the room, no blow dryer and no iron/ironing board. The bed was a little on the firm side and the pillows were comfy. I would definitely stay there again."

"I arrived late in the evening, and the staff was amazing to me. They suggested a good place to park, they made sure I had water and treats, and in general it was a wonderful experience. I’ll be back!"

"Well, it was definitely an over priced hotel stay. The bathrooms in the rooms could definitely use some updates. The ceiling is very low in the bathrooms and had many peoples hairs stuck to the ceiling which was nasty. How the cleaners do not notice is disgraceful. The ceiling could be easily reached to clean it. The bottom of the tub was crumbling. No bags were in my trash cans when I arrived. I had to go ask for some. No apologies either. Also, you would think with all the $ paid to stay there that it would include guest parking but nope, they charge you $20 a day to park at the hotel. It is ridiculous. If they have to valet park your car they keep your key and give you a hard time if you ask where your vehicle is. I needed my coat out of my car and it was an act of congress to use my own key or be told where my own car is. The location is sketchy. It is a good size city not at all like you imagine being near the ocean, all you smell is car exhaust. I checked out the day before I was due to check out (4pm) but was told they would not really check me out until the following day (just so they could charge me more $). I asked for a receipt and was told they would easily email me one after they charge my card the next day, well I have called twice and still no receipt. Proper Hospitality is definitely lacking here at the Holiday Inn in Portland ME. I suggest looking elsewhere"
