"My family and I stayed in a larger room with two beds plus a fold-out. The smell of cleaning supplies was rather strong and our shoes stuck slightly to the floor (mostly near the entrance). A few minutes after our arrival, we discovered ants in the bathroom; I killed the 30 or so that I could see and used some toilet paper to plug the hole in the corner of the room where they seemed to be coming in. As our youngest needed to get to bed and as I don't like making a fuss, we decided to deal with it. I did, however, notify the front desk of the ant problem and the worker was so nice about it, offering to get us into other rooms. As we already had kids in bed and the ants didn't seem able to get into the bathroom anymore, we decided to stay where we were. Because we had booked through Expedia, the worker wasn't able to refund us our full stay, which was unfortunate. That said, I appreciated her efforts to make things right, as best she could. The a/c was strong, but the main vent blew air straight at our faces when we were in bed; some might love that, but it was too much for us. Breakfast included pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, etc. It was quite a lot, given the price of the hotel. In view of the excellent reviews this hotel has received on Expedia, we were both surprised and a bit disappointed by our experience. As my son put it: "Aside from the ants and the sticky floor, it was a pretty nice place.""

"So I'm in agreement with a lot of the other reviews I read. For the price point it leaves a lot to be desired. First the positives, the staff at check in was absolutely fabulous, and through the evening brought me ice even though it was only enough for one drink , and also hand delivered my doordash order later. Wish I would of gotten the gals name. The lady in the morning during check out wasn't nearly as friendly or welcoming. Now the negatives, for the price point I'd expect to be able to go get ice as needed once the lounge closed no ice available and since the mini fridge didn't cool at all when I ordered a bag from the store it just melted. For parking you have to park in the public structure across the street and if you arrive during a busy time no place to park in front of the hotel for check in so you have to match your luggage across the street. Then March back over to put your pass in the dash to not be towed. Very limited channel selection. The porch/balcony is actually just the wall way where everyone gets to the rooms so you have people walking in front of you constantly. 11 o'clock check out but the maids start coming in your room at 945-10 a.m. also I think the boilers can't keep up with morning demand as the hot water just kept going completely off and coming back on. Mini fridge had last guest items still in it. I felt the same about the blue lantern in dana point but at least it had a view. "
