"The hotel needs extensive updating. Yes probably 100 years ago it was exclusive and upmarket. And yes the Queen and many famous people stayed, But they wouldn’t step foot inside now as it’s so run down. If the hotel had a refurb it would be amazing but unfortunately it’s very dated. The room was like going back in time 50 years ago everything including furniture and TV was so old. It’s not cheap to stay either we could have stayed at Hampton Hilton for cheaper. However on the positive side Breakfast was very nice. Was disappointed had to pay £14 to park vehicle in the hotel car park overnight also."

"Upon arrival at reception, the entire area had a very strong cigarette smell, apparently from other guests smoking in prohibited areas. Unfortunately, this smell persisted throughout our entire stay when going through the reception area. Check-in was very slow, with only one staff member on duty at 3pm — one of the busiest times of the day. We had booked an executive room, but it looked quite tired and in need of refurbishment. The room was mostly clean but very dusty, with rubbish found under the bed. The shower had what appeared to be mould around the edges. We could also clearly smell cigarette smoke coming from other guests’ bathrooms in the adjoining room. Overall, the stay was just okay."

"Lovely clean room, staff were very helpful and friendly. The lobby area had such a lovely vibe, perfect for a glass of vino watching the world go by. Would definitely recommend "

"The room was so nice and the staff were really friendly. The food was okay but there was only certain times that we could eat as it was included in the property. Car parking is a nightmare and couldn't find a suitable place to park and ended up getting a ticket. "

"Room had no heating, so double bed felt damp, bathroom was about 3x8ft long, with a sink in middle meanig you had to sidle to loo, and there was no way the shower door was going to close once in. Hallways must have been hoovered 6 months ago, although the room was clean, tv didnt work and had no wifi reception i room"

"Room poor and dirty door to main corridor did not lock carpets dirty and ripped wifi terrible unable to get on anything "

"Hotel were only ok waiting time for dinner was a joke as only one waiter and supervisor were allowed serve dinner even though there qere some lovely young waitress and waiters food dinner only ok there was a grey supervisor and he was not nice to one lovely waitress i frlt so sorry for her fir the price of the hotel iv stayed in better bed and breakfast hotels i wont be returning "
