"This is one of the cleanest, most thoughtfully-decorated, and nicest hotels I've stayed in many years. Danville is my hometown and I usually do an up and back. I will be staying at The Laurel for all future visits. Very impressed with the reuse of this building."

"Room was disgusting, walked in and a painting was broken on the floor behind one of the beds, cigarette butts under the bed and hair and discarded food in random spots. This was a cheap stay but I think next year I’d rather go somewhere else than stay in this dirty ashtray."

"Totally understand that they are under construction and things are big time awry. Parking lot and parking spaces where a hassle and temporary security lights that were in the parking lot were lit during the day and not lit at night which made the security of my self and vehicle a little worrisome at night. Inside of the premises were perfect and every aspect of that were also great."

"The ac was was so loud we couldn't use it. The sheets were not clean on the bed... if they were clean then they were grossly stained. The bed was also hard and clanked with every movement you made. The desk chair was broke and wouldn't raise up to the desk at all. Ended up not even sleeping there. Only good thing there was the kind lady at the desk."

"The property overall is top notch. I was pleased with my King suite, and had a nice view of the property overseeing the pool. The casino was a lot of fun. The staff does well to keep the game floor clean. Service could be improved at the cash center during busy hours, but the staff were all super friendly. I got a 80 min relaxation massage at the spa, and really enjoyed the steam room and sauna. The pool was fantastic. I enjoyed all the meals from 3 Stacks. I do not recommend Ramsays Kitchen. I...

"The customer service needs improvement. My wife and I ate breakfast at the hotel. The food was put up, and the lights were turned off on us 30 minutes early (9 am instead of 9:30 am). The customer service attendant sighed a couple of times while sweeping near us in the breakfast area. Who knows why? Maybe it was because I was telling my wife a story, and she was tired of hearing it. Maybe it was that she was tired of cleaning. I don't know the reason. Good customer service doesn't include...

"I am extremely disappointed in this hotel, Astoria North Extended Stay 1030 Piney Forest Rd, Danville, VA, 24540. I got two rooms. Both rooms have dirty and soiled carpets; the bathtubs are dingy; one of the refrigerators was stained with some kind of liquid and one of them have roaches. I requested nonsmoking rooms but both rooms smelled like smoke and reeked of a bad odor. A horrible experience.
