"Always be aware photos of any place you are considering could be as old as when the property was established. Or maybe even AI enhanced. Quality Inns have been a staple my entire life and Im nearly 50, so I may have choose this place on nostalgia and the pics of the Inn nestled in between the mountain and creekbed were very appealing. Check-Inn was smooth and easy, the attendant told us elevator location by the coke machines and we were on 1st floor. When approached elevator and vending, both were tagged inoperable. It was then I thought that was probably why nightly rates were fair because we would have to tote our things up the stairs but then we spotted another coke machine and elevator which did function. We stepped off and our room was in front of us, door jammed, it was found to be off the bottom hinge. We didn't report until the am at checkout and ironically ours wasn't the only door reported to be off the hinge that morning. Posted all over the property were dont feed bear signs, the morning of checkout heading towards stairwell there sat a big black bear blocking the stairwell, so I did an about face and promptly proceeded to the elevator for lobby. Then I decided that maybe it had been the bear who forced door off hinge because it had been done from outside. I have a thrill of a story by lodging here but overall the property was negleted. And the elevator to Hillside Inn did not have emergency stairs, shady biz. <100$ dont expect anything fancy, just mo"

"The best thing about this hotel is it's location if you are visiting the convention center. The WiFi didn't work, although the staff informed me that other guests were having no problem with it. It would connect for a few seconds, but then would drop me and never come back. The lobby felt dirty and had very few amenities. with only a coffee supply. There was only a view of the wall of the convention center from the balcony. There was no "Do not Disturb" tag for the room. Coffee supply for the room was replaced only after leaving notes for the staff to do so. For me, the convenient location next door to the convention center made up for the shortcomings, but I would not select this hotel for general touring of Gatlinburg."

"The room was exceptionally clean. Towels. Sheets. All of it was clean and tidy. Complete with mini fridge and microwave. It Had a gorgeous view of the creek and nice little balcony. I really Enjoyed the covered parking located steps from the door to the hotel and another step or two to our room. The staff were wonderful. We needed a few extra towels and called the desk. Within a few minutes more towels were delivered to the door. Staff were also informative and very friendly at the check in. Politely answered questions and gave maps and information about the area. This was our first time actually staying in Gatlinburg. My kids swam in the pool. It was clean and quiet. It was great the pool towels being pool side. Very convenient. The hotel breakfast was great. Staff were constantly restocking and making sure everything was out and ready for guests. Both Saturday and Sunday morning there was a little different variety. We probably enjoyed the doughnut holes the best. They were fantastic. This lodge was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return to stay here again. It was perfect! The hotel is conveniently located to walk the downtown area. You are just a short walk from lots of shopping and attractions. "
