"This was my second time staying at Southernmost. It really is a lovely property, with a fun vibe and extraordinary location.
That said....when we checked in, as an Expedia VIP and Platinum member, I was told I was eligible for a room upgrade, but not until the 2nd night of my 4 night stay. When we confirmed we wanted to take the upgrade (later that night), they said I misheard the front desk staff, and it would cost nearly $400 more. If that's the case, it would seem anyone could "take the upgrade". How is that cost a benefit?
Another annoyance was the condition of the shower. After taking one shower, the pan was filled with water b/c the drain was clogged. It is gross to stand in water that is backed up b/c the drain is clogged with other people's hair and debris. They fixed it promptly but they left the bathroom dirty with footprints and did not bring fresh towels to replace those that were soaked and muddied. Lack of caring or attention to detail.
Otherwise, I do love it here, and despite these 2 incindents of poor service, will probably come back."
