"Rooms clean , bed comfortable friendly staff, only issue is if you pay for breakfast up front the hours say it’s open until 10am but they will not serve it after 9:45 I was rudely told to by a kitchen worker. Other than that everything was great!!!"

"Horrible, the staff is rude. I was concerned about the state of the room based on the odor in the lobby. After waiting 30min someone showed up to the desk with an instant attitude. He kept telling misting he couldn’t have been gone more than 8 mins. Then he told me I couldn’t look at the room first. At this point my husband mumbled this is bs and that we should find another place. As I tried to hand a picture of my tag he just pointed to my husband and said no he doesn’t want to stay here get your things off my counter and leave you can try to cancel on hotels app. His odor was appalling and attitude was worse. Would never stay here even if it was free!"

"The Southern Hotel is our new favorite place. Everything was above par.One of the desk clerks was interested in history. My great grandfather opened The Southern Hotel as a hospital in the early 1900s. Later building "The Fenwick Sanatarium" she had read about it. Her interest made me feel special. The restaurant was excellent, my husband couldn't stop talking about how good the Shrimp and grits were. We live in "Cajun" country and are known for our food. This bested it and the presentation was perfect. "
