The bedroom had no windows and was very dark and stuffy. There was no hot water in our shower. It also appeared as though the receptionists entire family had moved in and were scattered all over the hotel.

Decent hotel at a good price ($35)
Service was good. The girl at the front desk was very friendly and courteous. Room is very small, but OK for 1-2 people. I requested a room in the back, so I didnt have to deal with the street noise. Room had a safe, which was a plus for me. Shower had hot weather, but not steady, it got cooler by times and then warmer. TV had several channels (English and Spanish). The area is OK. Some restautants nearby. Transmilenio (bus) stop was a few blocks away. Breakfast was simple (scrambled eggs, 2 toasts, coffee and a fruit juice). Overall, not too bad for $35. For that price, I could have expected less.

Small room but big hearts in the staff.
Staff friendly and helpful, though no one spoke English. Room very small and no window. But everything newly renovated and service good. Did not like the local area - hard to find restaurants.

We were upgraded from Olimpo to Von Astoria, so our rating is only valid for Von Astoria, but the staff here was the most serviceminded I ever have experienced on a hotel.

A cheap hotel with 5 star hotel elements
You can't go wrong with this one. Great cost / benefit ratio for the city of Bogotá. Although it looks as an old house on the outside (due to local architecture regulations) on the inside it looks modern, clean and amazingly well decorated. The rooms have Smart TVs (netflix), NFC keycard and look somehow luxurious (although a bit small if you go for a basic room, but the space was enough for me & my gf and a fair fit for what we paid). The service is great and they will truly care for your well being (the kind that makes you think tipping is well deserved, and they will keep doing it even if you don't tip at all). The Chapinero zone is covered in graffiti and you have to follow the local "common sense" rules (don't use your phone on the street, don't wander into unknown places, don't walk too late in the night) but if you're not stupid enough to expose yourself to danger in a Colombian city on purpose, you get to enjoy nearby super cheap food stalls (great creppes at 0.8 USD for example) and a thriving commerce. 3 Minutes walking distance from a station from the local public transport Transmilenio, that's as convenient as it can get. Their good internet reputation is definitely well deserved. Would definitely stay again and recommend it.
