The hedge at the driveway exit is very high, blocking the sight. It is not safe. There is a glass splash by the shower tab, about 2 feet wide. It is very difficult to turn on the water. There is no shower curtain, need to hide at the bathtub corner to take the shower so as to avoid splashing water to the floor. In general, the room is clean. The carpet is very clean. A very nice stay.

Excellent stay at the NH Villanova, Bologna.

It is the first time to visit Bologna. We have absolutely enjoyed our stay at the NHS Hotel. Everything about the hotel was excellent; especially the breakfast was amazing.

Was not a great NH experience, I expected

The breakfast it was supposed to be until 1030, but they do not replenish anything after 945 and completely cleaned up by 1015. The gym and pool are located in the same room, and you have to get a key and a reservation from the desk if you want to use it. You only get 50 minutes. The best part was the convenience of a superstore and the mall right next door.

We had stayed in NH before in Madrid and it was very nice, this one in Bologna does not feel like a 4 star hotel. We booked a family room, they gave us a 2 rooms with connecting doors. The place is listed as family friendly, we had our 3 year old with us and there is really nothing for kids, not even a playground. The room was not very clean, the bathroom had mold in it, the room smelled like someone had smoked weed in it. Breakfast was ok, and staff were great and friendly. The hotel’s restaurant was closed for the first two nights, so imagine arriving with a toddler in the evening and no food available at the hotel. Luckily there are plenty of restaurants around.

Nice, but don't depend on the bus!

Nice hotel but not close to the city. There is a bus stop just outside, and we waited for the bus there, but it just went right past us. Easy walk next door to a fabulous shopping center. Breakfast was worth it. We had trouble sometimes finding someone at the bar to get us drinks or ice. It was a restful stopover after several weeks on the road.

Worth the money

Clean hotel. Inexpensive. It had free parking, which we needed. I live in the US and not familiar with the customs in Italy, but it seemed super strange that a country in which people drink so much coffee, the rooms didn’t have a coffee machine. It was inconvenient in the morning to dress up and start looking in the hallways for a coffee dispenser. We found one in the lobby. Otherwise, the hotel was great.

Although the hotel itself was good - they had no restaurant catering throughout the whole weekend apart from breakfast. The hotel is situated a long way from town - buses didn't run Sundays so we had hotel lobby food microwaved- not good! We would not have booked this hotel had we known the catering arrangements. The bus into town and back stopped at 8pm so no dinners out without getting a taxi back which was about E20- very disappointing - Bus service was good during the day.

Exterior does not match the interior. The hotel feels a bit run down and worn off. The rooms are great size and have most fascilities you need. However it doesn’t feel like a well maintained NH property which are usually of great quality. At check in the receptionist was also not very helpful. He literally handed us a key and didn’t even give directions or explanation of the facilities , very unlike the usual NH hospitality. The air in the rooms also felt very stuffy and hot and we all woke up with sore throats and dry mouths. Mattresses were soft and some even u stable. Overall the property can benefit from a refresher and maintenance. Staff were not all bad, we were only a bit let down by the receptionist who checked us in for the lack of his engagement and cooperation.
