"The staffs were amazingly polite. I booked room only without the breakfast but they gave me free breakfast anyway. The room was average, cracked wall here and there. A little mold in the bathroom I think it's a common thing in tropical countries. We stayed there for 9 days, they never changed the bed sheets or replaced the coffee cups with the clean ones unless we put the spoons inside the cups. But overall, it was an excellent stay."

"The Alana is a new Hotel, very clean and functional. Small pool (only for kids) can't swim. The breakfast doesn't suit for western guests (only scramble eggs, no sausages, no salamis). As a western guest I m not familiar with "traditional" indonesian foods and those 4-5 types of food. Fruit and sweets choice is very poor, even I can say "it's nothing", need to be highly improved!!! "All was lovely. The staff were pleasant. Typical Javanese Breakfast of rice, noodles, tempeh and coffee was good. The room was nice and location was on a quite Street just off of Ijen with several local restaurants nearby. We were hoping to extend our stay for a week but the WiFi was nonexistent and we could not get cell service in the room. WiFi worked okay in the lobby just outside but because of this we found another hotel just around the corner."

"The good: comfortable bed, air conditioning, clean linen, complimentary tea, water and kettle to use. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of different foods to choose from. "All my reviews are by the Rules & Regulations of Expedia. First the good....few employees are 5 STAR: 1) Miss Mayan from the Reception is nice, polite, helpful, speaks good English. 2) Miss Rara from the Reception is nice and polite. 3) Mr. Harry for the Cafe/Restaurant is nice, polite. Now, the not so good...lots of NOISE. I FELT UNSAFE. NO INTERNET for few HOURS. NO ELECTRICITY for few HOURS. I will NOT GO TO this HOTEL."

"We booked a room for 4 people on Expedia which had good reviews and a high rating, but when we arrived it was a 12 bedded dorm which we would not have booked. We emailed the property for clarification but we did not get a response.We feel we were not given what we asked for. On the website it stated that there was a 4 bedded room available but not a 3 bedded room or 2 bedded room. So we felt there were only 4 beds in a room. Could you explain how this has happened? It was noisy and very dirty and a terrible experience. We would like a full refund from you and ask you to review the rating you currently have on the hostel."
