The Lion Hotel Shrewsbury
Very nice old building. Toilets wouldn't flush. Water flow far too slow and weak. No breakfasts available at all! I've never seen a hotel of this apparent quality that doesn't make any form of breakfast! TV is literally a 15 inch screen.

Mercure Birmingham West Hotel
Check-in was great, the gentleman on the desk was helpful and friendly. In all honesty the whole hotel is a bit tired looking, carpets worse for wear, damp smell outside the lifts. Our room was nice enough although the bed was a bit soft for me. Jacuzzi wasn't working which was a bit disappointing. ...
