"I booked this hotel for a long weekend break with my family. Due to a genuine emergency, I was unable to check in on the day of arrival. I messaged the hotel through Expedia in advance to explain the situation — they acknowledged my message regarding parking, but completely ignored my notice that I would not be arriving that day.
When I arrived the following day, I was told my room had been given to someone else. The hotel had re-listed and re-sold my room without any notification or attempt to contact me. Despite showing up in person, I was refused a refund — meaning they effectively charged me twice for the same room while profiting from a new booking.
This is both deeply disappointing and, I believe, unfair practice. Neither Expedia nor the hotel took any responsibility for the situation. I will not be returning to this hotel, and I would strongly caution others to consider how either party handles issues before booking"
