Laguna Hotel

"Decor a little dated but hotel was clean and well looked after and was ideal for what we needed which was a base from which to visit the local area. All the staff we met were really friendly and helpful. Carole at the front desk on the day we checked in couldn't do enough to help. Sorry, didn't catch anyone else's names but everyone was great. The only downside was very limited parking. They obviously run a travel company from the premises as there were several coaches in the car park which left very few spaces for guests cars and only one accessible space which meant often parking at the other end of the complex away from the entrance or even out on the road. Otherwise though, facilities available were good. Pool, games room, bar, restaurant for breakfast, again with very helpful and friendly staff. If you want a pleasant no frills hotel then this is the place for you."
Royal Exeter Hotel

"The hotel was rat old fashioned in that was still much of the original wooden staircase etc but it was clean and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and well lit. The only downside of our one night stay was the fact that altogether it generated 23 emails either from Expedia itself or from the hotel which was tiresome."

"We stayed in a family room on the first floor which was spacious and clean with a sea view. The furnishing in general was adequate but quite dated. This was reflected throughout the hotel. The bath was rusty which meant we relied on the shower which was good. The balcony door wasn’t secure with a flimsy catch. The radiator although not used was very rusty in need of maintenance. The decoration in the public areas was better in general it felt like the hotel needed a refurb"
