This was the first time we’ve stayed at Epworth by the Sea and it was amazing. The room was very clean and nice and the views were amazing! It was very peaceful and relaxing. We are already planning our next trip to stay here!

When I pulled up to this area, I was surprised it is a religious retreat area. I am fairly religious so no worries there -- I enjoyed the chimes on the hour and half hour and periodic hymns played by the bells -- but I did wonder if I went to the right place. But wowza! The front desk was terrific and, when I had an issue with the room in the middle of the night, I received swift and wonderful assistance. Great people, BEAUTIFUL campus to walk, and peaceful so one can relax and then hit the crowds of the beaches and shopping area for a nice balance. I will be going back!

Basic but adequate

For the price, this was a decent place. Beautiful grounds. Check-in given keys & map to the Turner Lodge. Should have been told about pool, church & service, dining facility, vending location, museum, any other amenities. No coffee in room, fridge was tiny w/ no freezer at all, mattress reasonably comfortable, very small TV. Worst thing was lack of insulation in building. We heard toilets flushing & sliding glass doors opening. Beautiful view from balcony & peaceful grounds. Convenient drive to town. Friendly staff, but they need to be trained to inform guests of what's available or give out a leaflet with info.
