"Room laid out strange. Stunk so bad when we got off the elevator on the 4th floor we almost pucked. Must have been the laundry room because room wasn’t as bad. Room needed vacuuming. Bed was comfortable. Noise level was average. Hot water and good pressure but when I reached for a towel to dry off it was filthy. Average hotel breakfast. We would not stay here again because of the towel. Makes you wonder what else?"

"Rooms are well appointed. Good shower water pressure. Beds quite comfortable. The breakfast was disappointing as they have removed better protein foods such as eggs / bacon / sausage and only provide high carb and high sugar foods such as waffles, muffins. Coffee machine and quality of coffee was not great, however, that morning they were bringing in a new machine."

"We stayed here for a couple nights for a personal trip. The location is very good, easy to access from the highway and close to good services and restaurants in Janesville. The room is minimalist and small as you would expect from this chain, but comfortable enough and has the essential needed for a quick trip through the area. We did not try the free breakfast. Overall, I feel that this hotel offers pretty good value for the price that we paid, but there were a couple areas that could be improved. There was a lot of noise from neighbors on our first night - it seems the walls don't do a great job of blocking out noise from adjacent rooms and the highway which is close to the building. Also, the room felt a little aged and dingy, and did not have a sparkling clean feel."

"The property was listed as newly renovated, and it certainly was not! Only the flooring looked new. The pictures online do not match what you actually get. Bed very hard and simply one mattress on a metal frame. Doors/locks did not feel secure. Very poorly insulated, we could hear every little noise from other rooms and the road. The first room we went into was so strong cleaning product/chemical smelling that it made eyes water and induced an asthma attack. Second room was stale old smoke smelling - a room that had been smoked in for years despite advertised as a non smoking facility. The bathrooms were so old and unclean looking. Tons of dust on the very old heating system - we didn’t dare turn it on. The only good thing was the very friendly husband and wife team who were managing and trying to accommodate/make us happy. They identified that the site had a new owner who was hoping to bring the place back to shape. There is no way we’d ever go back, nor would we recommend this place to stay. Thankfully we were only there for a short 10 hours. We left tired, with sore backs from the bed and smelling like chainsmokers!!"

"What a great hotel to stay at!!! All the staff I encountered were very friendly and answered every question I had. The room I was in was large and had everything you would want. The record player was a nice touch. Everything was clean, and I can't say enough good things about the Goodwin Hotel. Great time"
