Love this hotel!

Excellent stay, service was impeccable from check in to check out! Food amazing, room clean and comfortable. Their staff are their secret weapon. They are all fantastic with wonderful customer service skills. Already got a further 2 visits booked!

A great little one night stay

The hotel is great and we enjoyed our stay. The bed was ok although my partner found it a little uncomfortable. The facilities at the leisure centre were good but the gym was slightly dated. Food at the Horizons restaurant was excellent and the staff were really friendly. All in all a very nice place to stay.

We chose this hotel for its location for a family matter we needed to take care of. On approaching the hotel, the views across the firth were amazing!! The online check in completed a day before meant we had minimal to do at reception, with staff member being really helpful and explained that the swimming pool, gym and games area were included in the price, and xould be used as often as we liked and positively encouraged us to use it. The food served for breakfast and evening meal was fantastic. The choices for the evenings were not overwhelming so it was very easy to select something. The hotel room was very clean, super large bed and very good shower. I was so happy with this choice and would happily stay there again.

Wi fi very poor. Shower lacking in pressure. All the front facing rooms are for Families. Not as Luxurious as expected for the price paid. Room not serviced although the sign left on door. They had two weddings on so very busy. Best bit was the breakfast which was huge and possibly too much.

I had the worst experience at this hotel which resulted in us checked out of the hotel within an hour of checking in. On arrival the hotel staff demanded £100 deposit which was very unusual and I’ve never come across this before. We paid this, but things jus got worse, there was a weird smell in the bedroom, the bed was uncomfortable could feel the springs when laying on it and it. We thought we would go have a look at the pool area, as we was considering relaxing in the pool after our long journey. Walked in to the changing area and it absolutely stank like someone had pooed all over. We decided enough was enough and checked out

I drove for 1 Hour from Edinburgh in order to spend some time in a hotel by the ocean. The pictures in the listing had nothing to do with the room I was assigned to. The front desk was extremely unfriendly and accommodating.. I was supposed to have a room with an ocean view, instead, I was assigned a room in the basement next to a venue event room with an obstructed view of a noisy road and a fence. I paid for an upgraded room. I can only imagine if I rented a regular room. In the end, I decided t stay somewhere else and lose my money. Shame on Expedia. I spent hours on the phone with multiple representatives who put me on hold to later disconnect ignoring my complaint.

Never get cheated by seeing photos worst room

No 1 worst trip i have never had in my life total disappointing..Staff was very rude how hotels.com has given more than 8.5 i never understood.When i want to drink water they didnt even provide basic drinking water they said go snd buy in leisure centre i have bought 3 bottles eventhough after 2 hours i feel thirsty when i ask staff the said go right go left but they have abondoned access all entrie she paly with me 30 at 10 :30 she reveals that 9 o clock we abondoned access.She is saying drink water in bathroom..How can we drink water that besides camode i ask her we drink same water scotish water is great.As a tourist we feel its unsafe i think hotels.com ceo and bay hotel ceo will drink water daily that comes from bathroom that which situated near latrines...I never face this kind of treatment. Room is dirty and which they haveprovided is last and worst room was allocated..

See no sea

I paid extra for a sea view. I booked this hotel 8 months before travelling. Once we arrived we were told oh sorry we have had to put you all the way down there out of the way in the small room? We are juat fully booked. Got to the room, which was indeed very separate from the rest of the rooms in the hotel, it was quite small but comfortable but there was no sea view. I was very upset since I had paid extra for that luxury. I felt cheated. The sea view rooms you see when booking the room is not what I got at all.

The room was incredibly small we could barely walk around the bed to get to the bathroom, there was very little room for suitcases as there was only 1 bench for a single suitcase. The ocean view was of the parking lot, the road and then the ocean so their pics on line are very deceiving. Very expensive by Canadian standards. The pool closed by 9pm so we didnt get to use it.

The hotel was good, but the only problem I had is that the staff at the restaurant, made us stand and wait for quite a while, as they cleaned up tables. There were lots of other tables that we could of sat at, but we had to wait and wait. Probably for about 5 minutes, which seemed a long time. The waitress wasn't very nice. But we did notice another head waitress which was very nice to the new staff.

So many great things about this hotel

Great hotel in a stunning location with even more stunning views. Lovely pool and breakfast looking over the sea was spectacular. Bathroom was new and rooms nice, but its an older hotel so parts of it were a bit shabby. Great staff, entertainment, pool area were fab!

Although our De-lux room was a bit dark and unwelcoming; it was well appointed and adjacent to residents seaview lounge area. However; top marks to both Expedia & Bay Hotel for their speedy and very reasonable consideration ie refund- due to health issue resulting in early return home.
