"Been here several times and it's always wonderful. On the surface, it's a nicely appointed motor lodge or cabin, but it's the whole situation that makes it incredibly special. Big Meadows sits on the edge of a mountain, with a view into the Shenandoah Valley. There is a restaurant with a stunning view right from the dining room, a grill, and pub, all of which have different food, and you can walk out right from there on a number of hikes. "The room was clean, tidy, and stocked. The overall ambiance was unique and inviting. Parking was easy and convenient. The breakfast was hot, with a variety of options. The coffee cups were too small, but going back for a refill is a simple solution. My only complaint is the lack of power outlets in the common areas. From outside to inside, the style and decor were pretty cool to make the stay more of an experience than simply a place to sleep. "

"I always have great experiences at Holiday *nn Express. Room was clean and well maintained. Staff was super nice and accommodating. They got us a portable crib for my 3 month old which was really awesome. Break was great. No smoking allowed on the property. I will only stay at Holiday inn Express from now on."

"The hotel was closed upon arrival and no one ever arrived. The windows were broken and there was an odor of cat urine and a dozen feral cats. We left since the hotel was closed and sought other accommodations. I will demand a full refund from Expedia and my credit card company. Filthy!"
