Country Inn & Suites By Radisson, Dunbar - Charleston
6/10 Okay
"Room -230- was pretty clean and did not spell of smoke or pot. Breakfast eggs could have been cooked longer, too runny, and I usually eat anything. Cream cheese but no bagels, especially on a Saturday morning when it is busy, you should have more options. Everything else was good."
"shower and toilet were clean and bed was comfortable. did find and killed a cockroach in the bathroom. the phone was on the wall next to the toilet, strange. no coffee maker in the room. the breakfast they were suppose to have was as good as non existent. 2 cold cereals and white bread. not even any kind of fruit or pastries. a coffee dispenser put out horrible instant coffee. won't ever be going back."
"Staff was nice but the room was trashy the bed was messy one had no pillows someone belongings was left in the room and bathroom and the carpet was pulled back and fridge was dirty"
"The first room we were placed in had no smoke detector and reaped of Marijuana as did the entire balcony to the point I was coughing like taking a ride from Cheech and Chong. Then when asked to move he put me almost directly under the same spot with the same issues. We ended up seeing a lte movie and were exhausted by the time we got back so we did get some sleep. The pillows were flat and there was only 2 and the bed was awful. Then they don’t tell you until after you arrive there’s a $100 deposit to be made in cash and only returned after housekeeping checks the room and they take out of it for trash, linen cleaning and such. I’m honestly beside myself."
"Only giving two stars because of the staff member who was there when we arrived and the quality of the breakfast. Otherwise, terrible experience.
The staff member who checked us in was very helpful, especially when the first set of keys didn't work and again when I had to ask for extra towels (only two bath towels in a two bedroom suite booked for a family of 5). The room was gross — we found a pair of men's boxer shorts in the bathroom, secondary sink in the second suite room was not cleaned. Remote didn't work properly for the TV, I think 5 different buttons would just mute the TV even though they were marked other things.
We used most of the facilities, and everything was worn down (and borderline unsafe). For instance, loose tiles in the pool area and something overhead that looked like it could fall anytime. There was a door outside from the pool that led to what appeared to be an old outdoor pool propped open, seemed unsafe.
Finally, the issue of breakfast: we were told at check in and handed a sheet in our room keys that said breakfast was from 6-9am. This morning we walked down and were told that was wrong, breakfast starts at 7am on weekends. Thankfully, the breakfast was delicious and checking out was easy, otherwise I may have complained before I even left."
"The shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom were empty. They are the large pump bottles and attached in the shower. I contacted the front desk and was told that it would be taken care of. It was not. I am handicapped and was told that I would have to park in the garage. Most hotels advise the guest at check in that a hold will be placed for incidentals. This hotel placed the hold but I was never verbally told that a hold was being placed nor the amount. I have stayed at this property since it opened many years ago but after this stay I think that I will not return. It is still nice but the customer service has degraded quite a bit."
