The Phillipines, once you leave Manila you are in a different world. Taal volcano is a popular day trip from Manila, it's supposed to be an easy hike but if you add hot weather plus hot steam and stuff from an active volcano it gets very difficult very fast, but don't worry they sell really expensive beer once you reach the top (trust me you will not care about the price and it will be delicious no matter what). Once you make it to the top the view is great, the crater has the smallest island on a volcano on an island in the world (or something like that) keep your gear light, you won't regret it.

"I enjoyed my time here. The owner an his family were very nice. An friendly to us but to ge honest. This was more of a camp ground then a resort. It had lots of flaws. Food was extremely over priced. The bathrooms were very gross. Self flush toilets gross tolit water on thr floor. No toliet paper or bidet to rince or wash with. I used my hand at one point.
