"Stayed here Mon-Fri. My initial opinion of this place was very good. Staff were very friendly and appeared efficient. Check-in was easy. Rooms are very good with a ceiling fan and additional tower fan in the room which was helpful during the recent spell of hot weather. Breakfast was good. Couldn’t connect my laptop to their wifi so had to use mobile network. Food in the restaurant was good and delivered piping hot but service is slow and food is a bit pricey. "The room was decent and the bed comfortable. The issue we had was the bar had closed at 10.25pm and the bar staff wouldn’t serve us despite us having been told that it would be open until 11pm. We weren’t even allowed to add drinks to our bill and have them in our room because the barman said he’s closed all the tills. He said we could go to the local garage if we wanted to buy alcohol - not exactly what you expect when staying in a hotel."

"A big shout out to the staff which work here, very often you will stay somewhere and you’ll encounter 1 or 2 excellent staff with the rest just doing their job. This was not our experience at the Priory, every single member of staff acknowledged us with a friendly smile and an attentive attitude. We were a group of 4 and we all remarked how refreshing it was that we were welcomed and made to feel at home at the Priory. Keep up the good work and thank you."
