"After an issue with my room that was resolved the next day, my stay at the Hotel Grano de Oro went very well. The hotel was converted from a former house, is well maintained, and my room was clean, comfortable with a modern bathroom and walk in shower. It is centrally located and a welcome oasis to return to after a day out spent sightseeing or touring. All of the staff are friendly, professional, service oriented, and many speak English which is very helpful for non-Spanish speakers. The restaurant has a welcoming ambiance and a very good breakfast, plus a varied menu for lunch and dinner. In particular I would like to acknowledge the excellent customer service I received from Mario, the General Manager; Carlos, Jazmin and Ramon in the restaurant for breakfast; and Catherine and the entire Front Desk team. Their patience, help and assistance during my stay was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend the Hotel Grano de Oro and will definitely stay there on my next visit to San José."
