It was a very welcoming accommodation just down from the walls of the old city. The room was very comfortable, the staff helpful and the breakfast excellent.

The hotel is within 5 minute walk of the Narbonne Gate of the medieval citadel of Carcassone. We had a lovely view of this amazing fortification from our room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was charming and very good. Absolutely perfect location if you are driving.

A very satisfactory stay.
Hotel in very good condition and relatively close (on foot) to the citadel; good sized and comfortable rooms; the attendants are not the friendliest but they do their job; breakfast somewhat weak, comparable to other lower category hotels from the same hotel chain. Parking ok, but not very big. Very good a la carte restaurant menu for dinner.

En plus d’être un très bel hôtel depuis la rénovation , cet hôtel donne aussi envie de venir et revenir pour son personnel très accueillant, efficient et serviable. Lorsqu’ils le peuvent , ils vous attribuent votre chambre préférée , et sont aux petits soins pour que votre séjour soit confortable. de plus merci pour le prêt du fil téléphone que j’avais oublié Je recommande vivement le cassoulet dans le menu , les produits sont frais ! Je ne devrais pas mettre autant de commentaires de satisfaction car j’ai peur de ne plus avoir de chambre pour la prochaine fois, si tout le monde vient à cause de ce commentaire !

Friendly and helpful staff. There are only 3/4 taxis in the area and on arrival at the airport we could not get one. We rang the hotel who arranged it. The staff told us they were going to undertake a major renovation over the winter. We have stayed before here and could not fault it. In terms of location it’s immediately below the castle and a five minute walk.

Awesome location for touring the old town
Right outside the old town. Minutes of walk to the gate. Room was a bit small but clean. Free parking but breakfast was a little expensive.

Nickel pour visiter la cité
Acceuil et conseil à la réception particulièrement chaleureux. Chambre propre et cosy. Proche de la Cité, parking, piscine, etc. Un seul bémol, le service en salle (employés par toujours sympa, très direct et limite trash, et ça suit pas au niveau du service). C'est d'autant plus choquant que tout le reste et bien au dessus du niveau actuel. Excellente adresse malgré tout.

Excellent choice for visiting Carcassonne.
We stayed at the Mercure for one night as part of a longer trip and wished we were staying longer! Staff were welcoming, breakfast was good, the hotel was very clean and the pool area was very nice. Our room was excellent - very spacious and comfortable, lovely bathroom and very very quiet. The location was also excellent for visiting the Cite. We walked there and back in just a few minutes and there is a bus between the Cite and the town/train station which we caught on the way up but we walked back down in around 20mins. Excellent choice for visiting Carcassonne.

Disappointing after previous great visit.
We stayed here before about five years ago in a beautiful ,light and airy room, opening onto the lovely gardens, and had a fabulous stay. Thus we were looking forward to our current trip. Unfortunately, we were placed in two small,, dark rooms on the other side of the hotel. This isn't the hotels fault, just our bad luck, but it does completely change the quality of the room and how much we enjoyed our stay. This alone would not have resulted in me writing a bad review, however I noticed the morning of our departure that there were lots of ants in the bathroom of one of the rooms. We quickly took all our belongings from that room and put into the other, which seemed to be ant free. Not quickly enough, as after we had left I found out that one of our bags was literally full of ants (we didn't have any food with us so found it unlikely that we brought them into the hotel). I would not stay here again. :(

Hotel perfecto para una visita a Carcasonne
Maravilloso hotel situado a las puertas de la bonita muralla de Carcasonne. Con parking gratuito, servicio de piscina, agua y minibar también gratuitos. No tenemos ningún pero, nuestra estancia con dos niña fue perfecta.
