"I have stayed in midtown and Times Square area many times, so this was my first experience in lower Manhattan, and I LOVED IT!!! This area is rich in history, peaceful, vibrant and beautiful. It is by far my favorite area for lodging in Manhattan. My daughter and I were out late every night (even past 2:00 am one night) and always felt safe on the subway and in this area of Manhattan. The hotel is close to several subway lines, and also close to many fascinating historical sites such as Federal Hall (George Washington took oath there); Fraunces Tavern (Washington and other Revolutionaries met here many times); Bowling Green Park (oldest park in NY and possibly USA); Stone Street (from days of New Amsterdam); Battery Park (site of Clinton Fort); Trinity Church (Alexander Hamilton is buried here); and much more. Statue of Liberty ferry is a short walk. Wall Street, Stock Exchange, 9/11 Memorial; One World Trade Center are all close by. ALSO, our room was so peaceful and quiet. The beds and bedding were so comfortable. We never had a long wait for the elevators as some have expressed. One last thing, the manager at check-in was so friendly and helpful."
