"What a stunning place! Sandrine greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. The ensuite room was small but perfectly appointed for our stay. There was a lovely lounge with comfy sofas amd a TV. The outside space was beautiful, with ample seating for ourselves and other guests. We didn't take a dip in the pool but it looked so inviting. We were greeted with a mimosa and some sweet bread and we were provided a picnic basket breakfast in bed that was superb. We were so impressed. "Great location! So close to everything in downtown area. Of course you need to walk up the hill to the university. Place was clean and nicely renovated. Air conditioning is much appreciated. The plugs in the kitchen are tricky to reach, and it’s not very soundproof between units / with the staircase, but otherwise a wonderful place to stay in Coimbra."

"Where do we start. This was a fabulous hotel. Everything we expected and hoped for. Sonia looked after us from the moment we arrived and we could not have wished for a better host. If you want a modern hotel with square rooms and satellite TV, this is not the place for you. Keeping the style of its initial build 100 years ago makes this place very special from the opulence of the residents lounge, the ship like dining room and the rooms which are old but well cared for. We were fortunate to have a room facing the river with large balcony doors and air conditioning. The breakfast was exceptional. We dropped one star on the amenities only because it would have been nice to have a bar. To be fair there is an honesty bar but its not the same. Deserves all 5 stars overall and we re already looking at dates to return."
