"The first thing that greeted us was the smell of stale curry in the reception area and corridors, the lift was broken that would have taken us to our floor (the top one of course) and there was an absolute maze of corridors to navigate to find out way to the room. Hotel is definitely not a 4 star as stated, I,d give it 2 at most. Glad I was only there for 1 night."

"Rooms were lovely, staff friendly but restaurant a bit off. The fact you have an entrance and dedicated lift for it but no menu on the ground floor was a bit off. Once you’re up there it’s kind of oh well I guess I’ll eat up here. Back to the rooms very quiet and extremely comfortable"

"Me, my mum and my teenage daughter stayed for one night and we really enjoyed our stay here. The location is excellent. The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable, very spacious and clean for two of us in a twin. There is no elevator, so they changed our room straight away to being on a lower floor for my mum. The front desk has someone there 24 hours which was great as we could come and go whenever and didnt need to worry about coming back late after the theatre. The earlier check in...

"If you want a hotel which you are not going to spend time in and just want a base in the city centre the Angel fits the bill.
It is very good value for money, clean, and does a good breakfast. The rooms are functional with bedding and towels that are very clean. Rooms have a TV and coffee / tea facilities. The staff are very helpful and the bar does a good pint!
The hotel is just outdated, but as I said very good value for money based on location."
