Bahia Principe Explore La Romana - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"Our stay with Bahia Principe La Romana was great start to finish. I was initially worried, because our incoming flight was delayed in Miami 3 hours. I had booked transportation from the airport through the resort, and I was worried with the delay, they would not be there to pick us up. My fears were unfounded. Although it was late, the pick up crew was there with smiles and quickly eased our minds. Arriving at the resort, we were quickly checked in with 30 minutes to spare to eat supper at the buffet before close. We then enjoyed live music, salsa dancing, and drinks in the lobby area. A welcome atmosphere after a long day of travel. We spent the next three days either on the beach or at the pool in relaxation mode and enjoying the entertainment staff, beautiful weather, and family atmosphere. Our family of five (three daughters ages 21, 15, 10) had a great time walking the beach, swimming, playing chess, taking salsa lessons, enjoying the foam party, and reading by the pool. The wait staff in the restaurants were so friendly and helpful. Make sure you get reservations to the onsite restaurants AS SOON AS YOU BOOK!! We didn't and ended up with late late meal times, but the wait staff was still very welcoming and attentive. Our rooms were clean with service each day and the beds were very comfortable. Would definitely visit this resort again. "

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville - Adults Only - All Inclusive

"We had a great stay at this all-inclusive resort and would definitely recommend it—especially for anyone with Celiac disease. The staff was very careful and took food allergies seriously, which made a big difference.
The food was very good, and all staff were friendly and professional. A special thank you to Pedro, who served us at breakfast and sometimes in the evenings—he was always attentive and welcoming.
One tip: reservations for restaurants can be hard to get last minute, so download the Bahia app and book dinners in advance.
Beach is very nice and seaweed free. Water is not as turquoise blue but rather a little murky, however still clean and nice for swimming. "

"parking lot is outside, not sure there’s any security there. lobby is very small and during check in it’s extremely crowded. The girl who did my check in on Friday was very nice. No one took me to my room or helped me with my bags. Most of the staff is extremely nice and helpful. The building I stayed in was not in the best condition, I was in the top floor, you could see filtration in the halls. The room was okay, I’d say the decoration was minimalistic. I’d say the room was clean 3/5 the bathroom floor was stained and so were the bed sheets. TV and wifi did not work in the room. The direct view of the ocean was worth paying for and the hammock was the cherry on top. Extremely comfortable. I would go back for the view and hammock hahaha. When it comes to the food, it’s 2/5 most food was not the best and I had some pancakes on Saturday morning that were bad, either the batter went bad or they used something on it that made them bitter. Very sad. Also, scrambled eggs with ham in them?! Why?! I’m sad to say I left a lot of the food on the plate on every meal because it just wasn’t right. The alcoholic beverages were 1/5 maybe the beer was good but I don’t drink beer, coctels never tasted right and even the pina colada was wrong. Very sad. The snack bar was good, always had food, hot dogs, burgers, fries. It was acceptable (cheap meat you could taste). The food truck was cool, they have a bigger variety of snacks but only one cook, very long line. No waiters outside main buffets"

"This ‘resort’ was pretty ho hum. Nothing special. Very limited menu - and same menu for both lunch and dinner. Very disappointing Limited pool chairs. The pool deck’s side tables were all chipped and rusting. Staff were not friendly. We arrived 6:30 am (sorry - that’s just when our flight got in!!). On arrival of course there was no room available. No suggestion of “go have a coffee and breakfast on us (or at a reduced rate)”. I asked if they had a guest room available for use by guests arriving early or checking out late. No. And no suggestion of where to go to change - which we just did in the lobby washroom. We went to the restaurant and had a very light bite to eat from the buffet - each of us were charged full price of $20 pp and ate about $5 worth. We checked back every few hours to see if our room was available and every time the reception was cold. Not welcoming. I even had to pay for the 2 bottles of water I asked for. We finally got our room approx. 3 pm. When I asked if it was ocean view the woman was quite indignant - “oh no!!!! It’s city view”. Well their city view is a view of the hotel’s parking lot where service vehicles (trucks and vans) come and go. Guests arriving in the afternoon got a much more warm welcome - including complimentary rum punches. Not us!! Had we been treated as if they were happy to have us as guests my review might be better. But seriously not one person was warm or welcoming. "

Viva Dominicus Beach by Wyndham, A Trademark All Inclusive
4/10 Poor
"From the very first day, the bathroom was flooding every night. The water was dripping from the ceiling, and not just slightly—it was a significant and constant leak. We reported this issue multiple times, both by phone and in person at reception, but unfortunately no action was taken. What is most concerning is that only on the last day, at check-out time, someone was sent to inspect the issue, which turned out to be caused by the air conditioning.
The amount of water was excessive and posed a serious safety hazard, especially for children. In fact, my son slipped due to this situation, which is completely unacceptable.
Additionally, the air conditioning was making loud banging noises every 10 to 15 minutes. During the first nights it was quite alarming and made it difficult to rest.
Regarding cleanliness, it was also below standard. The bed sheets were not changed, and when we returned to the room, there was still sand in the bed from the morning, indicating that cleaning was not done properly. The bathroom was also not properly cleaned.
This experience gave us the impression that, because we booked through an external platform such as Hotels.com, we did not receive the same level of attention, which is very disappointing.
While other aspects of the stay were acceptable, the condition of the room made our overall experience very negative.
We expect this matter to be taken seriously and would appreciate a response..."
